Sadio Mane has refused to rule out a summer switch to Newcastle, saying “never say never” when asked about links with a potential move to St James’ Park.
The former Liverpool winger left the Reds last summer to join Bayern Munich but has had a difficult year in Germany and could well be on the move once again in the following months.
He has been linked to a move back to England as well as to Saudi Arabia – following the likes of Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante – but where his future lies is still unknown.
With our financial backing we have been linked with a number of big players, but the Senegalése international has refused to rule this move out when asked about it by Toon fan and politican Mark Callanan.
We are known to be in the market for a winger and the 31-year-old has certainly proved himself in the Premier League. However, based on his age and likely wage demands, I’d be surprised if we pursued a summer deal for the ex-Saints star.
