According to Sky Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Newcastle United are showing interest in TWO more Serie A stars after striking a deal to sign Sandro Tonali.
He reports that the club are monitoring Juventus winger Federico Chiesa and AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez; a player who’ll know Tonali very well from their time together at the San Siro.
Di Marzio insists that that we are yet to begin any official negotiations over the pair, but it seems Tonali is not the only player in the Italian market being eyed up by Newcastle.
Sky Italy say we’ve ‘asked for information’ on Chiesa’s availability and know a move for Hernandez would be tough to pull off, with Atletico Madrid also keen on the Frenchman.
Chiesa, 25, was one of the star performers during EURO 2020 glory for Italy. Since then, he’s suffered a knee ligament injury and suffered at Juve as a result, but it wasn’t long ago he was one of the most feared wingers in world football.
As for Hernandez, he’s a 25-year-old left-back who bagged four goals and five assists in 45 appearances for AC Milan last season. The France international would not come cheap, however, with his contract at the San Siro lasting until 2026.
