Toon considering £45m move for Premier League defender with same agent as six Mags – Report

Newcastle United are showing interest in a summer move for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, according to reports.

The Sun report that Eddie Howe is a big fan of the England international and is considering a £45m move following rival interest from Arsenal.

It doesn’t come from the most reliable source – this could be The Sun putting two and two together and making five – but Guehi ticks a host of boxes in Newcastle’s search for a right-footed centre-back able to add pace, athleticism and proven Premier League quality to our back four.

The former Chelsea talent is still only 22 and has been a key part of Palace’s defence over the past two seasons. He would not come cheap and it’s not clear if the club have this sort of money to spend on another centre-back, yet he could be the ideal long-term partner for Sven Botman and great investment.

Interestingly, Guehi is also represented by Unique Sports Group; an agency which look after SIX Newcastle players. This only means so much, but with Anthony Gordon, Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles, Isaac Hayden, Karl Darlow and Paul Dummett also on their books, this may work in our favour if we did make a move.
