Newcastle ‘desperate’ to rip up £30m deal with figures dwarfed by Man Utd & Man City – Report

According to Football Insider, Newcastle are ‘desperate’ to rip up our current deal with kit manufacturer Castore which is dwarfed by some of our biggest Premier League rivals.

Castore partnered with the club under Mike Ashley and agreed a six-year deal worth £5m per season, which our new owners are clearly eager to improve to aid our fight against FFP.

Compared to some of the ‘big six’ clubs, this figure is almost laughable – Man United receive £75m per season with Adidas, while Man City receive £65m every year from Puma.

We have significantly increased our commercial revenue with new shirt sponsorship deals with Noon and Sela, but finding a new kit manufacturer would be a huge step forwards for us.

It’s no wonder we are struggling to navigate through FFP restrictions when our current kit supplier earns us a tenth of what some of our ‘big six’ rivals take home each season.

  1. “….our current kit supplier earns us less than ten times what some of our ….rivals take home each season.”

I’m not sure that’s what you actually meant.
