Harvey Barnes reveals what he’s noticed about Eddie Howe after 3 days with Newcastle

New signing Harvey Barnes has revealed how working under Eddie Howe has made him ‘want to give that extra yard’ after just three days at the club.

As an outsider looking in, Barnes claimed he always admired what Newcastle were doing and that it looked like a ‘great environment’ with a team photo taken after every win.

This togetherness and fighting spirit that Howe has instilled in not only the squad but the staff members as well was clearly a huge factor in the winger’s decision to come to Tyneside.

As soon as he heard our interest was serious, the 25-year-old admitted that he ‘definitely wanted to be a part of’ this team and work under such an exciting young manager.

While players like Bruno, Trippier, Isak etc. have been absolutely huge for us, the biggest signing the ownership have made is arguably Howe, given the impact he has had on the entire club.

Here’s what Barnes had to say on Howe’s impact:

“When I heard of the interest and knew it was serious, it was a club I definitely wanted to be a part of.

“I can tell from working with the manager, just for a couple of days, that he’s the kind of manager you really want to give that extra yard for.

“I saw that from the outside, every time they win games, they were all in the changing room together for a picture – not just the players, but the staff – and it looks like a great environment. Everybody wins together, loses together and I think that will come from the gaffer.”
