Howe sends new message to media after Bruno Guimaraes talks & comments on Friday – Video

Eddie Howe has admitted he would ‘love’ for Bruno to sign a new deal after the midfielder claimed that ‘the doubt is ongoing’ prior to our 2-1 victory over Brighton.

The boss responded to this claim after watching his side emerge victorious in New Jersey, insisting that ‘there is no doubt’ about how he feels about the Brazilian’s future.

It’s not like Bruno is stirring up a fuss and is rumoured to be in talks with another club, in fact quite the opposite, with the 25-year-old very keen to extend his stay on Tyneside.

A new deal would just give that added sense of security and show Bruno’s dedication to the team – thought it’s difficult to question this given the drive and passion he’s shown over the last 18 months.

We’ll hopefully see more progress in the coming weeks, but it doesn’t appear to be something we should be particularly worried about with the new season right around the corner.

At a club event on Friday afternoon, Bruno said: “There is no news. I want to stay, but the doubt is ongoing, so let’s see.”

In response, Eddie Howe had this to say after last night’s 2-1 win over Brighton:

“There is no doubt in my mind about his future.

“We would love Bruno to extend his time with us for a long time.

“I’m not (a) party to those talks every day. Those talks are ongoing and Bruno knows how we feel about him.

“He’s very happy here. We hope there’s (a) solution to be found.”
