Sky journalist claims Newcastle are still in the mix for midfielder after £30m West Ham bid

Back in March, The Telegraph revealed that Eddie Howe had identified Scott McTominay as a key summer target.

A few months later, links with the Man Utd midfielder have gone quiet, but Sky Sports‘ Melissa Reddy has released an update on the Scotland international today, suggesting Newcastle are still in the mix.

She reveals that the Red Devils have rejected West Ham’s £30m bid for the 26-year-old today, claiming they value McTominay closer to the £45m mark. However, the senior Sky reporter adds that Newcastle ‘could still act on their interest’, providing other deals fall into place.
