After releasing a clip of Eddie Howe’s spine-tingling team talk last week, Amazon have released another sneak peak from the upcoming ‘We are Newcastle United’ series.
This week, they share footage of Amanda Staveley’s phone call with sporting director Dan Ashworth just after we had an opening bid rejected for Anthony Gordon.
Alan Shearer narrates the clip, which also features Mehrdad Ghodoussi and CEO Darren Eales; who explains that all deals have to be “signed off” by club chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan.

Eventually, we agreed a £40m deal (plus add-ons) with Everton, showing that Amanda Staveley’s perseverance paid off for a player Ashworth and Eddie Howe were clearly determined to sign.
The first episode of the four-part series is due to air on Friday 11th August; just 24 hours before our opening game of the 2023/24 season.
We can’t wait to watch, with the docuseries set to explore the inner workings of Newcastle United under new owners and our superb season under Eddie Howe, seeing us reach a cup final and secure a top four finish for the first time in 20 years.
