Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have given an updated Premier League prediction after the opening weekend, with only the latter suggesting Newcastle can sneak into the top six.
Carragher has predicted Man City to make it four league titles in a row while Neville believes Arsenal can pip them to it this year, but both agree that City, Arsenal, Man United and Liverpool will make up the top four.
The Man United legend is also backing Chelsea and Aston Villa to finish fifth and six – even after our 5-1 victory on Saturday – while the ex-Liverpool star replaced the Villans with the Magpies.
Speaking on his prediction, Neville admitted that Newcastle were ‘sensational’ against Villa and can see us having a ‘really good run in the Champions League’, but believes it will consume us as the season goes on.
On other other hand, Carragher claimed that ‘everyone keeps underestimating Newcastle’ and thinks we could still have a very good season, describing Eddie Howe as a ‘top, top coach’. Watch the full video below:
