Hall makes telling move after Newcastle bid & Sky Sports reveal new details of offer to Chelsea

According to The Chronicle, Lewis Hall has already said his goodbyes to several members of staff at Chelsea; a clear sign that the 18-year-old talent is on his way to St James’ Park.

Lee Ryder reports that Mauricio Pochettino was hoping to keep the teenager at Stamford Bridge, but it’s thought the boyhood Toon fan is keen to work with Eddie Howe.

There’s now an expectation the move will go ahead, even though Newcastle remain in discussions with Chelsea to iron out the finer details of a deal.

On that subject, Sky Sports News reveal that we are in ‘advanced talks’ over an initial loan deal that includes an obligation to buy the youngster for £28m next summer. Future add-ons will also be included in the deal, but it’s thought the deferred payments allow us to work within FFP restrictions.

Eddie Howe said last week that we’d have to be ‘creative’ in the final fortnight of the window and it seems we’ve been exactly that in our pursuit of Lewis Hall. See Sky Sports’ update below:
