According to some ‘breaking news’ from Sky Sports in the last few moments, Newcastle United have reached a full agreement with Chelsea over the signing of Lewis Hall.
As confirmed by Keith Downie, it will be a loan with an obligation to buy, where we’ll pay £28m next summer and a further £7m in performance related add-ons.
The 18-year-old has already said his goodbyes to Chelsea staff and will be in the North East later today to complete his medical before signing on the dotted line.
He will becomes our fifth signing of the summer after moves for Yankuba Minteh, Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes and Tino Livramento, with the deferred payments allowing us to bring in Hall now and pay next summer to stay within FFP restrictions.
