“Biggest deal” in Newcastle’s history leaked on Saturday night as Adidas release teaser

After an accidental release of the third and fourth episodes of Amazon’s “We are Newcastle United” documentary, the club have let slip a kit supplier agreement with Adidas.

In a clip narrated by Alan Shearer, he said: “The club meet with Adidas to strike the biggest deal in the history of the club. One which would be worth hundreds of millions over an initial five year period”.

The leak of episode four – which was due to be released on Friday 1st September – has led to Adidas all but confirming the news, as they’ve taken to Twitter with their logo, a black and white background, a ‘coming soon’ caption and 01.09.23; the date the announcement is due to be made official (see below).

Adidas were our kit manufacturer from 1995 to 2010 and look set to replace Castore – who earn us £5m per-season – ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

Puma succeeded Adidas in 2010 and produced our kits for 11 years, but Castore’s short stay at St James’ Park will come to an end next summer, with Toon chiefs striking a lucrative deal with Adidas that promises to boost those commercial revenues.
