Eddie Howe explains what went wrong at Man City and issues Joelinton update – Watch here

Eddie Howe believes our lack of clinical edge and sloppiness in possession cost us in last night’s 1-0 defeat to Man City.

He praises our fitness levels and believes we defended well – particularly in transition – but felt we were ‘off it technically’, believing we lost the ball too cheaply after do well to win it back.

It was a narrow defeat in the end, but with just one shot on target we struggled to lay a glove on a Man City side who contained us well and controlled the game; particularly in the first half.

On Joelinton, Howe admits “he wasn’t moving well” when he came off, but has his “fingers crossed” the Brazilian is OK ahead of next Sunday’s clash with Liverpool.

The boss feels we were better in the second half after a slow start, believing we were braver and tried to get after them but “didn’t quite execute” our game plan properly. Watch his interview with TNT Sports below:
