Howe has named an unchanged side following last week’s 1-0 defeat to Man City, seeing the likes of Gordon, Isak, Almiron and Tonali start once again. Joelinton is OK after limping off at the Etihad and Dan Burn has kept his place at left-back.
For the visitors, Ibrahima Konate misses out as expected, but Mo Salah starts and Alexis Mac Allister is eligible to play after his three-game ban was overturned, with former Toon target Dominik Szoboszlai partnering the Argentinian in midfield.
A huge game on Tyneside and the opportunity to get revenge on the only side to do the double over us last season.
