Newcastle loanee Harrison Ashby scored his first ever senior goal this weekend, finishing brilliantly for loan club Swansea.
Ashby joined the Swans earlier this month and has started every single game for them in what has been a difficult start to the season for the Championship side, who find themselves in 20th.
The Welsh club lost 2-1 to Preston on Saturday despite getting off to a good start through Ashby, who made a late run into the box, caught a cross on the half volley and fired home. Watch the goal below:
The 21-year-old signed for Newcastle back in January and was believed to be our backup to Trippier, but with Tino Livramento joining, it’s unclear where the right-back stands.
That said, the former West Ham man was clearly in need of playing regular football and hopefully this loan spell will be great for his development and we can reevaluate his position next summer.
