Newcastle United have drawn Manchester City at home in the third round of the Carabao Cup following tonight’s draw.
The game is due to take place the week commencing September 25th, coming in between our trip to Sheffield United (Sunday September 24th) and home clash with Burnley (Saturday 30th September).
The Carabao Cup evaded the grasp of Manchester City last year as they were knocked out in the semi-finals, but with just a quadruple left for Pep Guardiola to achieve, he may be hungrier than ever to win this tournament.
After reaching the final last season, which ended with Wembley heartbreak following a 2-0 defeat to Man Utd, Eddie Howe will be keen to go one better this term and finally end our long wait for domestic silverware.
Next up for Newcastle, we have the UEFA Champions League draw on TNT Sports around 5pm tomorrow, followed by the transfer deadline day on Friday and a trip to Brighton on Saturday night.
