PSG agree €90m signing ahead of Newcastle United clash – Hugo Ekitike’s replacement…

With Newcastle United set to face PSG in Group F of the Champions League following last night’s draw, the French giants have suddenly become more relevant for us Toon fans.

They’ve lost Lionel Messi to the MLS and Neymar to the Saudi Pro League, but Fabrizio Romano has revealed that they’ve agreed a €90m deal for Frankfurt sensation Randal Kolo Muani.

Ironically, Romano adds that Bundesliga star look set to replace former Toon target Hugo Ekitike; who snubbed a move to St James’ Park 12 months ago.

Ekitike could go in the opposite direction and join Frankfurt, although it’s reported that he’s stalling on a move in favour of a late move to the Premier League, with West Ham, Brentford and Everton all keen. Again, the irony!

As for Muani, the France international has scored three in four appearances this season after bagging an outstanding 23 goals and 17 assists in all competitions over the 2022/23 campaign.

So, it seems we’ll have Mbappe and Muani to deal with when PSG come to town. Bring it on!
