Elliot Anderson makes his decision between England and Scotland – Report

It looks like Elliot Anderson has made his mind up following the tug of war between Scotland and England.

According to the Scottish Express, Anderson won’t return to the Scots national team after making it known that he didn’t enjoy his time with their squad last week.

This decision leaves the door open for him to represent England in the future, with Gareth Southgate recently confirming that Anderson is a player that they like and will monitor.

The attacking midfielder was set to make his first-team debut under Steve Clarke before he withdrew with a ‘knock’ and returned to Newcastle.

The Scottish Express state that Anderson feels he ‘rushed’ his decision and does not have any plans to return. The option remains to return to the Scotland set up, but his early exit last week and indications he’d rather play for England suggest he’s already made his mind up.

Hopefully our talented youngster will eventually get his call-up to the Three Lions squad and prove he really has what it takes to play at the highest level.
