Two Mags at serious risk of suspension as one-game ban looms ahead of cut-off

Anthony Gordon is just one Premier League booking away from suspension after picking up his fourth yellow card of the season in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Brentford.

Bruno Guimaraes was also given his third caution in five games last weekend, leaving the Brazilian two yellows away from a ban.

Any Premier League player booked five times inside the first 19 league games will face a one-game suspension, with the five-yellow ban not lifted until after our Boxing Day clash with Nottingham Forest.

Gordon was cautioned in the second half of games against Aston Villa and Brentford, also going into the referees book for late challenges at Man City and Brighton. He’s one of only two Premier League players on four yellows from the opening five games, with Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson being the other.

Elsewhere, Sandro Tonali has picked up two yellows so far, with Joelinton, Callum Wilson, Sven Botman, Fabian Schar, Kieran Trippier, Dan Burn, Matt Targett and Harvey Barnes all on one.

After the 19-game cut-off, a two-game ban is then introduced for any player who accumulates 10 or more bookings before, and including, our 32nd game of the season.

  1. It’s not just the midfield that needs sorting out it’s the discipline as well then!
Official’s will ruin the game if they haven’t already with a total lack of common sense being applied with VAR and bookings.
