Ruben Neves is thought to be keen on a January move to St James’ Park just six months after joining Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
Journalist Ben Jacobs reveals that the Portuguese midfielder is ‘open’ to a Premier League return, adding that the deal could even include an ‘option to buy’ at the end of the season should we secure an initial loan.
However, it’s not yet clear if we’ll be able to pursue the former Wolves star, with a decision on associated party transactions set to take place when Premier League clubs vote on November 21st.
Should 14 or more clubs vote in favour of a temporary ban on related-party loan deals next week, we’ll be blocked from making a move for Neves. But, if the votes goes our way and there’s no measures put in place to stop the move, it sounds like a deal that all parties could agree to.
Jacobs adds that Al-Hilal could look to sign Man Utd midfielder Casemiro as a replacement for Neves, with Red Devils outcast Jadon Sancho also wanted by the PIF-owned Saudis.
Understand Ruben Neves is open to a loan move to #NUFC. Deal could even have an option to buy. Nothing clearer until after EPL vote on November 21 regarding associated party transactions. Al-Hilal could look at Casemiro in 2024 and are also one club considering Jadon Sancho.???????? pic.twitter.com/dbqiuGFjpI
