Sky Sports release update on Kieran Trippier & Newcastle injuries ahead of Chelsea clash

After withdrawing from England duty due to a “personal matter”, Sky Sports News have revealed that Kieran Trippier is back in training on Tyneside and set to face Chelsea this weekend.

The full-back sat out England’s 1-1 draw with North Macedonia last night and left fans wondering if he’d be fit for this weekend’s game. However, it seems he’s back on the grass and WILL be fine to play on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Sky Sports add that there is ‘hope’ Alexander Isak (groin), Miguel Almiron (hamstring) and Sean Longstaff (ankle) will all shake off knocks in time for the 3pm kick-off.

However, a whole host of first-team players remain out, with Sven Botman, Callum Wilson, Elliot Anderson, Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy, Dan Burn and Matt Targett remain absent alongside the suspended Sandro Tonali.

So, our extensive injury list remains, but it’s positive to hear Trippier is back in training and available for selection this weekend.
