German media claim Newcastle are interested in signing Werder Bremen star

Another striker has been linked with a January move to Newcastle United, with the German media reporting on our interest in Werden Bremen star Marvin Ducksch.

Following recent links to Serhou Guirassy at Stuttgart, PSG’s Hugo Ekitike, Brazilian sensation Marcos Leonardo and Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, SportBILD journalist Christian Falk claims we’ve joined the race to sign the free-scoring forward.

The 6ft 2′ striker has bagged six goals and four assists in 12 appearances for the Bundesliga side so far this season, with this coming after his 12 goals and eight assists over the 2022/23 campaign.

His impressive form over the past 18 months saw him called up to the German national side for the first time this month, where he featured from the bench in friendly defeats to Turkey and Austria.

Ducksch, 29, may be in form and could be relatively cheap, but I’d be surprised if the next striker we sign is one approaching their 30s. With Callum Wilson turning 32 next year, many believe we’ll target a younger forward who can learn from him and Isak.

Here’s a few clips of the former Borussia Dortmund talent in action, just incase there is some truth to this latest transfer rumour:
