Eddie Howe has been speaking to the press in the last few moments, offering an update on the injury ahead of tomorrow’s Tyne and Wear derby in the Third Round of the FA Cup.
He’s confirmed that Kieran Trippier will have a “late test today” to determine if he can make our trip to Sunderland after the full-back absent from our 4-2 defeat to Liverpool earlier this week.
Callum Wilson will miss the derby. It’s “not too bad”, but it’ll be enough to keep him out of upcoming games against the Mackems and Man City.
Elsewhere, the game will come too soon for the likes of Harvey Barnes, Joe Willock, Elliot Anderson, Jacob Murphy, Nick Pope, Matt Targett and Javier Manquillo, while Sandro Tonali continues to serve a suspension.
Here’s what he had to say on Trippier and Wilson when asked for an injury update this morning
Howe on Kieran Trippier:
“Kieran is going to be a late test today and see how he is for tomorrow.”
Howe on Callum Wilson:
“It’s not too bad but it’s enough to keep him out of this game and next game. We’ll hopefully have him back for Aston Villa.”
