Newcastle ‘very interested’ in Dutch forward and former Chelsea defender – Reports

According to reports, Newcastle United are ‘very interested’ in Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee and Barcelona centre-back Andreas Christensen.

TuttoBolognaWeb claim that Newcastle are keeping a close eye on Zirkzee’s impressive form in Italy alongside Man Utd, AC Milan, Juventus an Napoli.

We revealed in a recent exclusive that club scouts were watching the Dutchman with a view to signing a striker this summer and reports in Italy believe he’ll be ‘bombarded’ with offers if he keeps up his current form in Serie A.

Then to Spain, where Sport have commented on our alleged interest in Christensen; the former Chelsea defender who has spent the last 18 months at the Nou Camp.

The same outlet linked us with the Danish international back in November and it’s thought we are considering a summer move for the 27-year-old, who is expected to be sold to raise funds and help reshape Barcelona’s current side.

So, no suggestion we’ll be making January moves for either, as a midfielder and versatile forward appear to be our top priorities this month, but they could be one to watch if and when we open our wallets at the end of the season.
