Newcastle listening to offers for two more players after Manquillo sale – Report

After announcing the first permanent departure of the January window which saw Javi Manquillo join Celta Vigo last night, Newcastle are open to letting two other senior players leave this month according to iNews.

Mark Douglas reveals that the club are ‘listening to offers’ for Matt Ritchie and Emil Krafth. It’s believed some of our fringe players are being offered around in a bid to raise funds, with late outgoings likely if we’re to spend this month without breaching Premier League profit and sustainability rules.

Krafth has made four appearances in the league this season, all from the bench and has fallen to third-choice at right back after the purchase of Tino Livramento in the summer. The Swedish international joined us in 2019 and is out of contract this summer.

Ritchie’s long service to the Mags cannot be understated. Joining in the summer after relegation he helped us back into the Premier League at the first time of asking and has contributed some memorable moments including the winning goal in our last league win over Man City. The Scot has been studying for coaching badges at the club but was linked with a move away in 2022.

Moves for Krafth and Ritchie would free up spaces in the Premier League squad and enable a small amount of spending this window because of our ability to spread incoming transfer deals over a few years.

The Toon have turned down offers for both Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson in recent days.
