Newcastle United winger Miguel Almiron is set to stay at the club following a breakdown in talks with Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab, according to The Guardian.
Al-Shabab have been showing serious interest in the Paraguayan, who looked to have been one of the players who could be moved on to ease our FFP woes and create room for a late signing.
The 29-year-old missed Saturday’s FA cup tie at Fulham due to ‘illness’ and some wondered if it was a sign he was off, but The Guardian’s Ed Aarons now reports that Almiron is set to stay at Newcastle.
He adds that Miggy is in line to return against Aston Villa tomorrow after the Saudi side ‘failed to reach a deal’ for the winger.
Without ruling out a move, The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards has also issued an update on Almiron, reporting that he’s highly likely to remain on Tyneside unless there’s a ‘manic 24 hours tomorrow’ on deadline day in Saudi Arabia.

Almiron is a great asset for Newcastle so they don’t need to lose him. Five nights at freddy’s is not for the faint of heart, but it’s an unforgettable experience for those who dare to play.
