More good news for Eddie Howe as another Mag posts positive injury update

It looks like Elliot Anderson is finally stepping up his recovery from a long-term back injury that’s kept him out for over three months.

The Geordie midfielder posted a picture of him back out on the grass on his Instagram story on Wednesday afternoon, suggesting he’s finally edging closer to a comeback.

Eddie Howe recently hinted that he was slightly behind Harvey Barnes, Callum Wilson and Joe Willock in his recovery plan, but it looks like he’s making positive strides after a stress fracture in his back.

He hasn’t appeared since our 4-0 win over Crystal Palace back in October and started our four Premier League games prior to that, playing key roles in wins over Brentford, Burnley and Sheffield United.

With Murphy fit again, Barnes and Wilson pushing to return this Saturday and Willock expected to be back in action next month, we could see the return of four more players at some stage in February; ideal timing ahead of our FA Cup trip to Blackburn in between leagues games against Arsenal and Wolves.

Anderson won’t be rushed back and may take time to return to full contact training, but the fact he’s back on the grass suggests he’s heading in the right direction. Here’s what he posted on Instagram earlier today:
