Callum Wilson set for end-of-season move as Newcastle face new injury concern – Report

According to The Mail’s Craig Hope, this is likely to be Callum Wilson’s final season at St James’ Park.

With the striker approaching the final 12 months of his contract on Tyneside, it’s believed a move abroad is on the cards this summer, with Saudi Pro League sides also monitoring his situation.

The 31-year-old received interest from Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan over the January transfer window, but ended up remaining at the club alongside vice captain Kieran Trippier; who was wanted by Bayern Munich.

Wilson’s injury issues have been an ongoing concern, despite his brilliant goalscoring record, and it seems they’ve struck again, with Hope revealing that a pectoral injury could see him miss Saturday’s clash with Bournemouth.

Newcastle are hoping he can manage the pain and face his former club, but a decision will be made later in the week. With Alexander Isak also managing a groin issue, there’s a chance we face the Cherries without a recognised striker.

  1. I stopped listening to Eddie Howe injury updates ages ago.
Rather than informing the fans, Eddie just uses them for tactical advantage to try to confuse the opposition who may be planning for the next match.
