Derby day tension and excitement is set to ensue as Newcastle make the short trip down the A19 to visit the unfortunate souls of Sunderland.
The importance of this match needs no more attention. We all know what it means and we all know that the team must try their hardest to win at the Stadium of Light. The 5-1 last time out will only add to the spectacle, but in reality it will seem a long way away should we suffer defeat today.
Taking the derby-tinted glasses off though, which is hard, Sunderland are a good side when they play at home. Their record backs this up as they have only lost one league game at home this season, so with that in mind, even though it’s not what I want, you would have to say that even if we could only manage a draw it would be a good result. Anything other than defeat basically gives us the bragging rights until next season, and a point away from home takes us another point closer to safety.
The major bit of news is regarding the absence of Andy Carroll and Cheik Tiote for the away side. Those two will be sorely missed, and I’m sure they will be missing the chance of playing in the North-East derby, especially Carroll. Naturally, for more team news and stats you can peruse the NUFCblog.info match preview by clicking this link.
The match will not be broadcast live here in the UK, but it is being broadcast in various countries around the world. A quick look at the list of streams available gives me hope that those unable to watch the game will be able to watch it online, but if any of you guys and gals find a decent stream then please don’t hesitate to share a link with fellow Newcastle fans.
So this it. The 133rd Tyne-Weat derby is about to begin. Newcastle have historically been on top in the fixture. I hope that today we have a case of history repeating and we leave the Stadium of Light this afternoon with at least a point in the bag!
Howay the lads!

Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)

Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)

Big Dave(Quote)
Monty is on the pitch! haha, Brilliant!
Ross(Quote)
FSOTC I know me and Toonsy used it last 😉 year
Big Dave(Quote)
a deflection off that bird for a goal would be absolutely legendary, completely absurd and totally brilliant.
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
Cap’n Tugboat! Great nickname. Well done, Dave & co.
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
Enrique is class

If we keep it at this score up to 70 mins we can hit them on the break. I’d bring Ranger on at the 70 mins mark.
Stuart79(Quote)
Is anyone else using that tvoo stream starting to have issues? Regular buffering and lots of breaking up?
Ross(Quote)
I’d like to see the Loveman/Best pairing again at some point because they were so in sync against West Ham.
****. there goes my stream. Who’s got a working one?
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
My stream has gone!
Stuart79(Quote)
yeah, Ross, I just had a broken stream. Refreshed it and it’s doing okay now… for now anyway.
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
anyone got a decent stream?
phil(Quote)
Refresh the page, boys.
Cap’n Tugboat back defending!

Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
They’ve started now. Could be like the alimo! Need pace up front.
Stuart79(Quote)
that tvoo is back!
Ross(Quote)
yikes…
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
oh that was close 😈
Big Dave(Quote)
They’re really pushing now. Stu was right, if he hold we could hit them on the break. Could use some speed on the field–loverman and/or Routledge?
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
Sh!te myself when Harps was in no mans land there!
Ross(Quote)
I’ve got an idea. Why don’t we just get the ball and keep it for a while.
Stuart79(Quote)
Where the hell was Shola’s support?
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
That was brilliant from Ameobi but nee one there to finish it off.
Ross(Quote)
Think it’s time for some pace.
Stuart79(Quote)
That’s an interesting idea, Stu.
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
ahh Jonas, he should at the very least be hitting the target from there like, that’s a good chance. Excellently won from Shola again.
Ross(Quote)
Lovens or Ranger might give them a bit of trouble
Big Dave(Quote)
http://1sport.info/hq-channel
Nee sound but it will do
Ross(Quote)
He IS on the pitch still! Nice work there.
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
We need to take one of these half chances.
Stuart79(Quote)
That’s another half chance for Best, we cant afford to keep wasting these.
Ross(Quote)
Jonas 🙁 ah he looks ok
Big Dave(Quote)
Was Malbranque booked for that “Tackle” on Barton a couple of minutes ago?
Ross(Quote)
I think Barton was surprised to get that ball from Besty.
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
didnt see him getting booked ross no
phil(Quote)
Ross I dont think he was well I never seen a card
Big Dave(Quote)
I cant stand Zenden 👿
Big Dave(Quote)
Don’t think Malbranque was booked.
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
Sunderland sub, Tramp 15 off, Inbred 7 on.
Ross(Quote)
Inbred 7 is a decent player.
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
FSOTC-I heard he gets it from his dad. Or his sister maybe, I can never remember.
Ross(Quote)
Twitchy *** time.
Stuart79(Quote)
I think it was his Aunt Mom.
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
Iffy spell here like, we’re just looking to get rid of the ball
Ross(Quote)
havent seen the whole gamebut Best has impressed me from what ive seen
Johno Toon(Quote)
He won us the corner that led to the goal. He’s been a bit more involved in the 2nd half.
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
oh Jose lad
Big Dave(Quote)
FFS, Jose!
Stuart79(Quote)
I’m gonna endorse and recommend Stu’s strategy: Keep the ball a little bit. See what happens. WHo knows? Maybe something good.
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
Shola is providing a canny outlet down those flanks. I still wouldn’t mind seeing Ranger for 10 maybe as he tends to hold the ball up well in these situations and is full of energy if nowt else.
Ross(Quote)
Enrique and Colo playing great, as the commentators have said.
Fans Should Own The Club(Quote)
Who was that who lead with his arm on Jonas? How isn’t that a foul?
Ross(Quote)
Bardsley gets away with that too
Big Dave(Quote)
FSOTC-what stream is giving you commentary?
