Game on! Newcastle v Everton.

Let's get it on!
After a week of rest and recuperation it’s back to work for the boys in black and white as Newcastle welcome Everton to St James’ Park for what is likely to be a tough encounter.

Everton will be missing the likes of Tim Cahill and Marouane Fellaini, although doubts over the fitness of Louis Saha remain as yet unconfirmed. The former Toon striker may play, but just how fit is he? That is, and has been, his problem for a number of years now. Despite that though, David Moyes will have his side riled up and ready to make amends for their disappointing midweek FA Cup exit to the hand of Championship outfit Reading.

The match also gives Newcastle the chance to end the two-and-a-half year hoodoo in which they have failed to win a Saturday, 3pm kick-off. It has to end some time, surely?

If you haven’t already done so you can cast your eyes over my match preview and eye up some team news, injury updates, form and fun facts by clicking here.

With regard to streaming (I think Niall Quinn just shuddered then) the match, it’s been hit and miss all season when it comes to quality. However, a quick look at the MyP2P site does at least fill me with a slight bit of hope. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll find one that will be good for 90 minutes. I won’t hold my breath though, but if you do manage to stumble across a decent stream then please feel free to leave a link to it in the comments section below.

That’s just about it. All that’s left for me to say is that I hope we all end up enjoying the game!

Team news is as follows…

Newcastle: Steve Harper, Steven Taylor, Mike Williamson, Fabricio Coloccini, Jose Enrique, Danny Simpson, Kevin Nolan, Cheik Tiote, Jonas Gutierrez, Leon Best, Peter Lovenkrands.

Subs: Tim Krul, James Perch, Shane Ferguson, Danny Guthrie, Michael Richardson, Shola Ameobi, Shefki Kuqi.

Everton: Tim Howard, Tony Hibbert, Phil Jagielka, Sylvain Distin, Leighton Baines, Phil Neville, Jack Rodwell, Mikel Arteta, Leon Osman, Jermaine Beckford, Louis Saha

Subs: Jan Mucha, John Heitinga, Seamus Coleman, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Shane Duffy, Jose Baxter, Victor Anichebe

Howay the lads!

Tiote in front of back 4

  5. Simpson playing wide on the right!
And we let Routledge go on loan, strange.
But hey ho, at least we won’t have to put with Guthrie out wide.

  6. More interestingly is Ricardson again on the bench. This lad has a rocket career with us since joining in the summer.
Simmo at right midfield, im intrigued, his crossing is not that bad!.

  9. FSOTC – Richardson is a young late who only joined in the summer. He was an electrician, but now he is rated very highly at the club so it seems. 18 year old I think. Plays in midfield.

  10. Chill oot, Pards has got it all worked oot. Taylor is a better defender than Simpson and Simpson is better on the right than Guthrie, don’t think anyone can argue with that.

  11. Well interesting that I would mention 3 CB’s on the last thread and lo and behold he we are!

I hope its something like this

    ————–Harper————

    Saylor–Willo–Collo

    Simo———-Tiote———-Jose

    Nolan

    McLovin—-Jonas

    Best

    Fluidity, pace, lets see

  12. Looks like Barton is not being played again until he signs a contract 😯
unless he is genuinely crocked. 😆

  13. it’ll be 4-4-2, don’t really see the sense in changing the formation, unless we’re loosing with 10 to go 😕

Simpson and Taylor need to work together today. Defend as a pair and attack as a pair, I think the only way either will have a good game is if they help each other out.

“Looks like Barton is not being played again until he signs a contract”

He’s had the opportunity to sign all season, hasn’t stopped him playing before now. Really need to stop reading those conspiracies.

  16. @Moreno – dunno if barton is on yet as still showing pre-game rubbish
Think he’s normally on the fox-sports rather than soccer plus tho
