Game on! Newcastle v Everton.

Let's get it on!
After a week of rest and recuperation it’s back to work for the boys in black and white as Newcastle welcome Everton to St James’ Park for what is likely to be a tough encounter.

Everton will be missing the likes of Tim Cahill and Marouane Fellaini, although doubts over the fitness of Louis Saha remain as yet unconfirmed. The former Toon striker may play, but just how fit is he? That is, and has been, his problem for a number of years now. Despite that though, David Moyes will have his side riled up and ready to make amends for their disappointing midweek FA Cup exit to the hand of Championship outfit Reading.

The match also gives Newcastle the chance to end the two-and-a-half year hoodoo in which they have failed to win a Saturday, 3pm kick-off. It has to end some time, surely?

If you haven’t already done so you can cast your eyes over my match preview and eye up some team news, injury updates, form and fun facts by clicking here.

With regard to streaming (I think Niall Quinn just shuddered then) the match, it’s been hit and miss all season when it comes to quality. However, a quick look at the MyP2P site does at least fill me with a slight bit of hope. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll find one that will be good for 90 minutes. I won’t hold my breath though, but if you do manage to stumble across a decent stream then please feel free to leave a link to it in the comments section below.

That’s just about it. All that’s left for me to say is that I hope we all end up enjoying the game!

Team news is as follows…

Newcastle: Steve Harper, Steven Taylor, Mike Williamson, Fabricio Coloccini, Jose Enrique, Danny Simpson, Kevin Nolan, Cheik Tiote, Jonas Gutierrez, Leon Best, Peter Lovenkrands.

Subs: Tim Krul, James Perch, Shane Ferguson, Danny Guthrie, Michael Richardson, Shola Ameobi, Shefki Kuqi.

Everton: Tim Howard, Tony Hibbert, Phil Jagielka, Sylvain Distin, Leighton Baines, Phil Neville, Jack Rodwell, Mikel Arteta, Leon Osman, Jermaine Beckford, Louis Saha

Subs: Jan Mucha, John Heitinga, Seamus Coleman, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Shane Duffy, Jose Baxter, Victor Anichebe

Howay the lads!

  2. If Besty keeps this up he’ll be worth at least 20 million by the summer!!!!!!!!! 😛

  3. Leon Best has to be worth £15m at the moment. His current form along with his length of contract and his age mean his value is at maximum worth at the moment.

What’s the chances we lose Best in the summer, lol.

  6. I really, really don’t rate Steven Taylor. We always leak an incredible amount of goals when he is involved compared to not.

He may have a speed advantage on Williamson but that’s about it.

  7. CC – They have been collectiely shyte. Luckily Williamson’s walk about didn’t cost a goal though.

  10. Injuries are gona cost us from now on.

We just don’t have the squad to cope.

Ameobi, Ranger, Barton, Ireland, Ben Arfa, Gosling, and now Enrique not fully fit…

We need a miracle for a win second half. And I just don’t see us getting even a draw.

  11. Big Dave…thanks for the link mate…Spanish and not breaking up…3 minutes delayed from the real action by the sound of things…

Didn’t manage to see any of the goals, but it’s disappointing to go 1-0 ahead at home then lose the lead so easily and quickly…
