Game on! Blackpool v Newcastle.

Stop this man. Stop Blackpool.
It’s ‘Game On’ again as Newcastle take on Blackpool at their humble Bloomfield Road ground.

Sentiment should pretty low on the agenda as the media darlings of the moment struggle to stave off relegation. No end of tired cliche sayings have been trotted out this season. ‘Living the dream’ and ‘little old Blackpool’ are a couple that immediately spring to mind. Newcastle must rise above that this afternoon however and should be focussed on shattering the tangerine dream a little bit more in this 3pm kick-off.

Not a lot has changed with with regard to team news since I wrote the match preview yesterday, and you can see the proper team news at the very bottom of this article as and when it becomes available.

The match will not be broadcast live here in the UK, but a fair few overseas channels seem to be broadcasting it so I live in hope for a decent and reliable stream. Once again, if you stumble across one then don’t be shy and share it with the rest of us. We’re all in it together remember.

The away end is sold out as all 2,100 tickets got snapped up by Toon fans eager to make the most of the Easter break, although I’d guess that there will be quite a few more in and around Blackpool enjoying the game and the atmosphere around the town. Hopefully the lads can pull out a result to make the trip just that bit better.

So that’s about it really, and it really is Game On!

  1. Jose’s playing f*cking appalling. Looks like he couldn’t give a ****. just kicking it anywhere!!!

  2. Jose has been pathetic for the last couple of months now.

Obviosuly there’s a reason for it and I assume he’s just wouldn’t about which offer to accept for next season.

  3. I’d just leave Enrique out until we sort his future out, he’s starting to become a liability. Ferguson could easily play better at the moment.

  4. Good goal by Løvenkrands, horrible defending today. I have no idea if their shot was actually over the line, but one thing i know i that i hope that makes the sloppyness go away. Can’t really say we didn’t deserve letting one in when being so sloppy.

  5. Everytime Jose loses the ball he just gives up, doesn’t even think about winning it back. pathetic.

  6. Jesus fcking christ!

Is Nolan still playing? Like I said, he doesn’t give anything to the team when he doesn’t score.

  7. Jaysuz! We’re being battered by Blackpool, why do we look like we’ve been on the beer?

  8. Well you coulda predicted it, in a game where we’re by far the favourites and expected to win, we play like sh1te.

  9. We needed half-time, Poor half. We’ve not really looked likely scorers. that goal came from their mistake. Barton, Nolan, Enrique and Simpson have all been awful.
    Nolans being bypassed again.

  10. Only encouragement is Krul, showed some good confident keeping in coming out when he has, which he was reluctant to do at the start of the season

  11. its like de ju vu, last season they battered us in the first half we nicked a goal and they scored not long before half time, Second half they nicked another and held on hope history aint repeating…

Unreal considering the form they are in and we make them look amazing.

  13. doubt it jobe, seen it too many times this season where we are shyte in games we should do better. EG. Fulham.

  14. and what happened against Arsenal? we got dicked first half and played better 2nd, we’re not even losing. we just need to play better…..

  15. Not particularly nice considering Bardsley could be seriously injured as he had a head injury. 🙁

  16. They are awful at the back though. A bit of luck and a bit of class and we’ll get more chances. We need to keep it tight at the back and cut out the mistakes though as most of their chances have been created by us being sloppy.

  17. I’d whip Ameobi off and replace him with Ranger. There are big gaps in their defence it’s just Shola isn’t mobile enough to take advantage. Ranger’s pace will cause them problems.

  18. ye but Jobey thats cos i went into changing room at half time and had a word 😆

And that is abit low, laughing a head injury, I don care who they play for I dont wish injury on anyway….. bar Judas.

  19. Ireland on at half time. don’t care who comes off. Would take nolan off due to performance but he’s captain soit won’t happen. So maybe barton

      (Quote)

  20. Stu-didn’t know that, only seen he was subbed off for injury, I don’t wish serious injury on anyone…well, apart from a legbreak for Owen anyway. Just want them to get relegated like 😎

  21. Adam gave the ball away, barton passed it and lovo put it in the bottom corner from about 20yard
