Game on! Liverpool v Newcastle.

Game on at Anfield.
It’s an early start for fans of Newcastle today as a rather curious midday kick-off at Anfield awaits.

It’s a match that takes on extra significance as it gives fans a chance to have their say on the Andy Carroll affair and allows them a first chance to get their feelings off their chest. Some people may feel that he was forced out, but I very much doubt that many people in the away end at Anfield today will feel the same.

Of course, the reaction to Andy Carroll is just a sub-plot and what really matters is getting a result at a ground where we have traditionally struggled. Liverpool are resurgent at the moment whilst Newcastle are just trying to limp towards the end of the season with an injury-hit and already thin squad.

Still, we held Manchester United to a draw so there is no reason why we can’t do the same today. As I said in the match preview, I really can’t see us getting more than a draw as I just can’t see where our goals are going to come from.

The match is live on ESPN here in the UK and is also available on many overseas TV channels from various parts of the globe. That will mean that there is likely to be a good amount of streams available if you need to watch the match via that means. In fact a quick glance at MyP2P shows that there are plenty to choose from.

I’m not generally a negative person, but I have a bad feeling about today. I’d be delighted if we could pick up a point and I’d be doing naked cartwheels if we won. I feel that my modesty and gymnastic ability will both stay hidden for today though although I do live in hope that we can do something today.

Howay the lads!

  1. Get jonas on the full back all day and get him sent off, one set piece has to go in surely..

  2. I’m sorry but if Nile Ranger cannot do a better job than Lovernkrands he might as well retire and not waste his time having a career.

  3. stuck in the hospital so cant watch the game , how we doing? Any chance of us coming back? A few friends of mine r liverpool friends tat need taken down a peg or 10

  4. We’ve started playing now, is it a coicidence that it’s since Barton has moved inside? Right winger a must this summer.

  5. Game is just summing up what we know. No threat up front. Been impressed with how we’ve played but we havent troubled themCant blame the strikers, they just arent talented enough.

I say get Ranger on, his finishing is off but he always causes problems

      (Quote)

  6. Lovenkrands offers no threat at all. What is the point of playing him

      (Quote)

  7. We have had plenty of possesion, and lots of corners/free kicks on the edge of the box, but our delivery has been poor today, and when you have a non-existent front line it’s just like pinkling in the wind…

All in all, it just goes to show what we COULD achieve with a couple of good signings, we’re not too far away …. 🙄

  8. Liverpool ahead after Maxi’s deflected effort. Luis Suarez and Fabricio Coloccini swapping shirts as they depart? Very odd.

    😯 🙄

      (Quote)

  9. Give Jonas the ball and let him runn at the young left back, he has a yellow card and three public warnings already FFS…we may then have a chance against 10 men ! 😳

  10. We have definately responded well on conceding an unlucky and bit poor goal. We have dominated since, but alas, we have absolutely no threats up front. We’ve had tons of set pieces but again no real targets and delivery has been a bit off.
Note to summer buy a completely new set of strikers.

  11. Solano I think Ranger would cause them some **** he turned the game the last time so just have to wait and see how long he gets.

      (Quote)

  12. 93- were playing with 10 men if lovo’s on the pitch 😆
9 men if sholas playing shyte 😆

  13. A very good effort after conceding. Much more possession that we have had in awhile.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but Loven and Shola produce nothing- each match our only chances are from set pieces or horrible mistakes by the defense. We really need 2 strikers in this summer

      (Quote)

  14. Munich mag @ 93 – Exactly! We need to press their left back. Just let Enrique/Jonas run him ragged and draw fouls. He should be very close to the second yellow.

      (Quote)

  15. Can anyone answer me this? What does Lovenkrands bring to the team that Ranger doesn’t?

      (Quote)

  16. Impressed with that. We’ve pissed all over them in general play without threatening which is what we all know anyway to be fair

      (Quote)

  17. aye we’ve been decent.

If flanagan doesn’t get subbed we need to run at him.
Jonas is having a cracking game. Shola useless as per. Simmo and enrique had poor starts, picked up a bit though.

ESPN commentary is shocking. Waddle is w@nk

  18. True enough Toonsy. As someone said above it does make you excited for a next season with HBA and 2-3 other attack minded player hopefully on the way

      (Quote)

  19. We need to get Jonas and Jose constantly running at the young full back.

Get Ranger on for Lovo who’s done nothing.

  20. Strikers will always be judged on goals, no matter how many other attributes they bring to the table.

  21. He isn’t rewarding Ranger for his **** attitude – short term pain and all that

    Goals. Pretty simple really.

Really? So you can confidently say that when you look at Lovenkrands scoring record – you really are stupid.

Lovenkrands looks about as effective as hair remover on Heather Mills’ false leg or to put it another way, your brain!

    Stupid idiot!

      (Quote)

  23. Get Raylor on for simpson then we will have a delivery for our set pieces.

      (Quote)

  24. Oh btw, talking about HBA,i thought he supposed to be fit for this game? ❓

      (Quote)

  25. @112, nah bench for next game was the earliest i think, maybe even the game after

      (Quote)

  26. Loven also brings the fact he can score… 😆 Even so i’d like to see Ranger replace him

      (Quote)

  27. Get Lovenkrands and Shola both off. They are too hot and cold, they’ll either have a good game and score, or be rubbish. Today is the latter. Chuck Ranger on, and no harm in giving Shefki a run out, they might be a bit more motivated, Shola knows he’ll get playing no matter what happens these days.

Get Ryan Taylor on too, Joey’s delivery has been rubbish.

      (Quote)

  28. Haha – you’ve really surpassed yourself this time, Stu.

    Premiership goals (’10-’11): Lovenkrands = 5. Ranger = 0.

    You fckin moron! 😆

      (Quote)

  29. Isn’t Barton out set piece man? Would Raylor really get those over him? I mean, Barton’s been a little off today, but is Raylor really better? It’s been so long since I saw him play…

      (Quote)

  30. Oh Poor lil Potty. TC has him more tied up than a gimp in a rubber suit.

Potty – in all seriousness – have you just got half a **** or something?

It’s not possible to score sat on the bench, thought even someone like you with an IQ of -100 would know that one.

Good god man, have a day off. You have already been shown to look like a complete moron who has no dignity or humility, in fact Colonal Gadaffi has more dignity than you!

Tell everyone again, have you ever been right once when it’s come to football or NUFC?

“Ashley’s a great loyal man” Ha!
“Shearer had his chance and blow it” – That’s also been proved to be bollocks
” Carroll is ****” – Another cracker from Stardust

“Being relegated has been an improvment for the club” Yet another Stardust pearl of wisdom.

Seriously, try another head the one you’re wearing at the minute is making you look fckin ridiculous!

So Ranger hasn’t played in the League this season, Stu?

Not a great deal in comparison to Lover, but that doesn’t suit your argument does it.

The fact is Ranger would give us more, he’s quicker, he has a better first touch and can press high up the pitch. He worries defenders, Lover doesn’t, in fact do the Livrpool players know he’s still on the pitch?

      (Quote)

  35. twice in two minutes lovenkrands second touch has been a tackle. useless

  36. Seriously Stu – its like talking to a ******.

    I give up.

There is no hope for you.

Potty seriously – is it true you married one of the melons from Tescos at Kingston Park?
