Cabaye and Ba fit and ready for Spurs?

Cabaye and Ba - Fighting fit for Spurs?
Newcastle fans have been sweating over the fitness of Demba Ba and Yohan Cabaye over the last few days, but it seems as though the concern was uncalled for, according to Lee Ryder anyway.

The news regarding Ba suggested that the Senegalese international was found to have an issue with his knee which meant that he sat out the international game at the weekend and didn’t take part in any training.

However it appears that it was all precautionary and the striker should be fit to face Spurs at the weekend which will allow the Toon Army a collective sigh of relief give the rich vein of form the striker is in. Ba’s scored 4 since Ramadan, and he just can’t get enough…

Now call me cynical if you like, but I find it strangely coincidental that Ba supposedly picked up an injury against Wolves, went away with Senegal, didn’t play in the meaningless game thanks to injury, but now he is supposedly fit for the game at the weekend. Job done?

The other player with injury concerns is Yohan Cabaye. Since the France game last Friday I’ve heard stories of injuries of varying degrees, each with it’s own recovery timescale ranging anywhere from zero to six weeks.

Of course eyes will be on the side that Laurent Blanc picks this evening but it would appear that Cabaye has taken part in training ahead of the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina is Saint-Denis. Personally I think it’s a tad harsh that France have to play two countries this evening, but the fact that Yohan is training should stand us in good stead for the weekend.

Whether Cabaye is picked or not should be a good indication of how his injury is. The former Lille man has established himself as a key figure for Les Bleus under Laurent Blanc, and with France still needing a result this evening to guarantee a passage to Euro 2012 you would have to think that if Cabaye is fit then he will feature.

Of course much of this is just hearsay and speculation at the moment and there is an awful lot of “understanding” going on. The local journalists have got it wrong before so I guess the only way we’ll really know for sure is when Alan Pardew talks to the media on Thursday.

Hopefully he’ll be the bearer of good news!

  2. Soz for delay 🙂

Apparently Wraith got himself all suited and booted for some corporate shindig only to be told by dekka to do one 😀

    Class 😆

  3. What a shame for poor Steve. He shouldnt be shocked at that really, he’s in with the NUFC whatever they are called group to bring Dekka and Ashley down isnt he? As much as they are not my fave people, can’t blame them really for telling him to do one

      (Quote)

  4. haha, how could Dekka do that to the voice of the people?!
….serves Wraith right for bullying hobbits I suppose.

  5. aye Bats, their ‘keeper handled the ball outside the box after half an hour, 50/50, if it was Man U he would’ve stayed on.

  6. Maan, Bosnia just came close again. They’re well going for it! All over France, talk about pressing high up the pitch.

  7. France just should’ve scored.

…reet, that’s my commentary done for a the duration. Gona be hitting the magic baccy-doorstep pause button a few times over the next couple of hours, so I’m off for a bit………….

  8. Toonsy – You say it’s class that Wraith has been thrown out of a corporate hospitality do at the club, but doesn’t it say more about the lack of class our current regime have? Would you not say petty and imature?

I know one thing for sure, if i’d shelled out the money to be a corporate

  9. I wouldn’t be too impressed that might guests might be thrown out! That would go down well if they throw out you’re best customer who brought millions into your company. Not that Wraith is that but the principle is the same.

Wonder if Dekka would through Northern Rock oot.

  10. Tbf Stu, how do we know that wraith paid to attend or that he wasn’t given his money back? Slight difference between a long time busniess partner/club sponser and someone who has made it his living to be a pain in your ***, often unfairly and embarrassingly so

  11. STUART79 yu on drugs? anyone chanting for MA oot needs bosh on the heead things are best theyve been in yeeeeeeahs

      (Quote)

  12. MDS – Wraith was a guest of a corporate customer. He won’t have paid to attend, the company that invited him WILL have paid for the privilege to invite guests. I’d be askibg for sone reconpence from the club if I were their corporate customer.

  14. @96. Well I stand corrected then- didn’t realie that was how it was.

I wonder what sponser would have brought him as his antics are well known. Still I don’t disagree with Dekka at all. Why should they host a guy who spends his life criticising them….

  15. STUART79 no not on drugs but its not really class to buy a ticket or go to an event hosted by people that you have publicly slated ….. dont you think?

  20. Cabaye is playin ok …. if i see one of the boznian herzogoveenians touch him why i outta THEY GET BASHED

  21. Toonpipes – I wouldn’t go that far. He has his opinions and he is as welcome as the next man to them.

However it will hopefully be a lesson that actions do have consequences and if you shout loud enough you will get heard.

Corporate guest or not, it is still up to the proprietors who they allow in. You wouldn’t go for a night on the **** with your mates to a pub which you’d been constantly abusing the landlord of would you now?

  22. I find it ironic that Steve Wraith avatar picture makes him look like a bouncer yet he was bounced out of the building 🙂

Im assuming its him in the picture

      (Quote)

  23. Toonsy- just saw that he is still playing in the 60th minute (a good sign) with France down 1-0. Picked up a yellow as well

      (Quote)

  24. I would go that far .. hes misrepresented a huge number of people who love NUFC and whos agenda isnt simply anti-non-born in the toon area …..

  31. It clearly shows the truth hurts and Steve Wraith has come out best in all this.

If Llambias had any answers to his criticisms then he should have responded instead of reacting the way everyone under pressure does.
Throwing him out demonstrates he has no answers to Steve Wraiths questions.

      (Quote)

  32. Ahhhh Bobs! dared to show your face on here and the humiliation of publicly slating Cabaye only to be shown up as a TERRRRRIBLE judge as Cabaye proves his class to one and all

      (Quote)

  33. Troy – Or that he won’t take no ****, or public death threats in front of tens of thousands of Twitter followers I should say, from anyone 😉

      (Quote)

  34. I get the impression that no matter what answers the board give to any question Steve might have Troy he wouldnt be happy.

  35. Off topic but thought it was hilarious when I heard the night that a marathon runner from Sunderland has been disqualified from third place in the kielder marathon for catching a bus for part of the race.

  36. @tinpoops

Never judged Cabaye at all. I criticised those who raved about his first few games which I was clearly in the right.
I always maintained I would tell you if he played well and he has done for the remaining 4 games.
I’m always level headed Tinpoops and you should understand I have a far superior football knowledge than you. 😛

  38. Ah Bobs, the point is that nobody else needed the ‘first few games’, people with an eye for a player can tell quicker than that .. but well done for catching up and see if you can keep up from the start next time .. have you got any more exciting stories to tell us about your uncle the wrestler?

I’ve been tuning in lately and not posting to see what the banters like without me.

I don’t half bring some humour and debate to the site. The banter can be tedious without me.
Good to see you’re still right in the thick of it sending everyone to sleep.
    Woo hoo hoo hoo. 😛

    @Toonsy

We know what he said and as I say it was not a death threat like you originally suggested. 😕
Good job I’m here to defend the innocent. 😕

  41. According to Wraith, Llambias also told him that he shouldn’t be there as he could never afford corporate.

Sounds like a petulant child if you ask me with absolutely no professional integrity whatsoever

      (Quote)

  42. Wraith is a knob who puts himself about as the fans champion, most fans I know who know of him think he’s a ****
Sure he can voice his own opinion but think the club are well within their rights to throw him out of corporate
