Game on! Newcastle v Everton

Nigh on a full house?
It’s seems strange to start one of these articles off with a ‘good morning’ but then again it’s not often we have an early start.

So in that sense it’s good morning and welcome to the match article which will take us all through every twist and turn of the Everton game.

A 12:45 kick-off has not put off a crowd that is expected to soar above 50,000 for the first time this season. That little feat is made all the more impressive when you consider that this early kick-off is on Sky TV here in the UK. Generally speaking an early kick-off plus a game being televised results in a dip in attendance, but not this time thanks in part to the rather decent offer of half price season tickets and in part thanks to the performance of the team.

Speaking of team performance, a win against David Moyes’ side will see us move into 2nd place in the Premier League for a couple of hours at least. With Manchester United playing the tramps from down the road at Old Trafford at 3pm you would have to say that should we rise to the loftier heights of 2nd then it will only be for a couple of hours and we’ll just have to settle for 3rd place as we head into the international break.

In terms of previewing the game,Shamrock has penned a most excellent match preview which you can view here. It’s full of useful stats and analysis which you can peruse at your leisure. You can also have a look at the Zoe’s take on how to beat Everton in her article here.

As for the match itself, as mentioned earlier it is on TV which in turn should mean that there are plenty of streams available for those who aren’t going to be at the game or don’t subscribe to Sky. The key word in that last sentence though is “should” as there is always a chance that the ones that do show up are a bit, well, pony.

That just about wraps this up really as we’re mainly here for the match. Can we make it 11 league games unbeaten this season and head into the international break with an even bigger spring in our step? You never know…

  1. we have lost the midfield for the last 10mins…they are pulling us out of shape a bit….targetting Raylor. Drenthe v Raylor…don’t like the look of that… 😥

  11. I think we should put Santon onto one of the wings and take Guti off. He looks exhausted and we need extra defensive cover.

  12. I would like too see Santon come on 2nd half at LB push Raylor futher forward and switch Gutti over to the right to help simmo out and either Marveaux throuh the middle or bring HBA on for Best .

  13. Why do the TV commentators start off reviewing Evertons performance in the first half. WE are the home team ffs, and were winning comfortably. Evon when reviewing Newcastle performance the commentators talk about Everton…muppets…. 👿 👿 👿
