FA display double standards once again

Ok for Redknapp to talk, but please don't talk about him!
I shouldn’t be surprised, I really shouldn’t. Not as far as the actions of the FA are concerned anyway.

It’s nice to note that the FA have sent a letter to all managers asking them not to discuss the vacant England manager role in the wake of strong speculation linking Harry Redknapp with the job.

The rather hypocritical letter briefs all managers to stay quiet on talk of the vacancy citing the fact that employees of clubs should not be talking about contracted employees of other clubs in public. Tis o course comes after the widespread approval from his counterparts tipping Redknapp for the role.

Hypocrisy or what?

So it was fine for Redknapp himself to talk about employees contracted to other clubs when he referring to Demba Ba in January, but now the boot is on the other foot all of a sudden everyone should keep quiet all of a sudden?

You couldn’t make it up.

This has really annoyed me, but I don’t know why. Perhaps it’s my own fault for expecting the rules the FA have cited to be applied across the board in a fair and correct manner. Silly me.

At the end of the day, if the FA are going to get uppity about something like this then I expect them to do the same in all circumstances which contravene the rule they have decided to reiterate on this occasion, as it suited.

How can they honestly expect to garner respect when two similar things get treat with different approaches?

Postcode bias anyone? Jobs for the boys? Looking after their own?

  1. I really can’t stand the FA or Redknapp. It’s like you say, it’s one rule for the chosen ones and another rule for the others.

If Pardew came out and talked about clauses and details of the contract of Scott Parker, he’d be sanctioned and fined by the FA. Redknapp essentially whips a copy of Ba’s contract out on the press table and nothing happens.

How does he know this anyway? To know of it, he has to have been talking to representatives without the club’s permission. Isn’t he admitting tapping up?

Can’t stand the old rick with a capital P.

  2. Maybe you should write the FA (again) asking why its ok for Floppygob to talk about other players contracts but not other managers talk about him & the England job???? 😡

  3. Toonsy- I don’t let it rile me anymore ,i’m sure they love all the negative attention in a perverse sort of way. The only ones more incompetant than our FA are Sepp Blatters lot 😆

  4. Sunderland winning against Liverpool.

Anyone else happy with this result? Is it right to want them to win? 😐

  5. I hate the FA and all they stand for. The media accuse FIFA of being bias and corrupt (which they are) but the FA is just as bad.

  7. You don’t need to tell me, I am a Celtic fan and want Rangers to disappear really but reality says they need to survive.

  10. Kimtoon,

Rangers will survive, there is no doubt. Not sure how strong they will be for a few years though. I am not sure how Europe will work for them or if being in administration is the only problem.

They’ll still be top two regardless.

  13. The only problem that I can see with the scum winning is that they’ve made the gap smaller between us and the few clubs catching up on us, though l’pool losing does help that some what. Only really care about sunderland’s results when we’re playing them as I’ve only ever met one mackem (to my knowledge) and that was Simon Pryde, the radio guy from total sport, when I was at my cousin’s wedding, he seemed pretty sound so I have nothing really against them, just for the local banter.

  14. I see they have charged our players for ‘misconduct’ as well after the derby. If the same thing happened in the Spurs/ Arsenal game do you think they would charge them? 😕

  16. Normally I can’t stand Fergie, but have to admit to having a chuckle when he told the press about these letters. He really shown how stupid they are!!!
Let’s get this right … The FA send a SCOTSMAN a letter telling he has to stop discussing individuals for the role of ENGLAND manager … I mean what were they expecting … an apology and an “I won’t do it again” reply?!

So yeah, we can add double standard to completely incompetent!!
It’s thanks to there incompetence that they are sending the letters out in the first place, as had they dealt with Terry the racist in the correct manner instead of pissing about postponing the matter then taking the decision to strip him of the captaincy that made Capello walk.

Newcastle are to have disciplinary action taken against them thanks to a late tackle from a little scummy *****?!

Yet old droopy dog can – on more than one occasion – speak openly about a clause in another clubs player. Not just him though, David Gold as spoke about it but that must be allow.
The English FA is and has always been made up of fat cats, to desperate to make a name for themselves to actually do a good job. I don’t ever see England winning anything during my time.

    **** em!!!

  18. Think we are defo in for a game Monday night now like.
Gunners would want to win anyway but with Spurs loosing today they can make up ground on them with a win against us.

Does anyone know if Cisse is fit for the game?
    If so I’d go –

    Krul
    Simmo/Willo/Collo/Santon
    Oba/Cabaye/Tiote/Benny
    Ba/Cisse

I think that would give a natural balance to the team with an attacking edge from the wings.
