Game On! Newcastle v Club Brugge

Europe!
Newcastle host Club Brugge this evening as Europa League action returns to Tyneside once more.

Alan Pardew will no doubt be keen to build on the last result in this competition, which was the 3-0 victory over Bordeaux, and will be looking for another three points which will put us in pole position to qualify for the knockout stages.

A full preview of the game can be viewed here if you wish to do so. It features some preliminary team news, however after it was published we’ve been garnered with a bit more news from the powers that be. That news being that Cheik Tiote will be in the starting eleven for the game tonight, and that Xisco won’t be in the squad despite his hat-trick for the U21s the other night.

Full team news will be published below as and when it becomes available, and the other bit of good news is that the game is on the telly so if you can’t get to the ground to take advantage of the cheap tickets you will at least be able to watch it in one way or another. It’s on ESPN for those that have it although don’t worry too much if you haven’t as I’m sure there will be a stream knocking about. If you find one, share it, please. I need one as I’m in France right now and I can’t find a lot on their TV!

Which neatly wraps it up.

Howay the lads!

  1. Do you get special blog points for posting earlier vs. more? Is that why position matters so much?

  2. Interesting to see 3 defensive midfielders line up. I’m guessing that Anita or Bigi will be asked to push forward more to support the front 3? I expect to see Shane and Sammy terrorize the left flank with their pace, same for the right flank I guess with Santon and Obertan! Although I feel like even Sammy has better decision-making than the Frenchman.

I’ll be relying on comments on here for how the game is progressing as I’m writing a paper with no Internet, with only my phone allowing me to follow the match at all.

    Howay the lads!

  3. NEWKIE, I’ve always had you lads and lasses in my heart and soul from here.
I’m a bit of a traveller as well though and I like to check Newcastle forums out and join in.
The problem is, I seem to get hated hahahaha.
I wouldn’t care, I’m a nice lad and very respectful and wear sensible Y fronts, sensible hush puppy shoes, tank top, black socks with doamind patterns down them, plus my hair is partened and bryll creamed to high heaven, yet I just don;t seem to fit in. 😆

  4. Newkie, they’re a right bunch of stuck up gits on Toontastic. They must PM each other to tell each other not to speak to anyone hahahaha.
The stick they give new posters is pathetic, no wonder nobody wants to sign up now.
They picked on the wrong one with me though because they couldn’t break me down. 😆

  5. Well that line up must be one of the quickest we have had out in a very long time . Pardew certainly wants pace tonight .

  6. I’m over the moon with that line up and a strong bench as well. Great to see.
I have a feeling that it’s gonna be a fantastic night and an easy win for us.

    I’m going for 6-1…
I know I know it sounds over the top but I just have that feeling. 😀

  11. You are gonna see one of the best goals you have ever seen tonight. Cisse will score a goal that will be a contender for goal of the century.
Me Nana’s just told me. She’s just finished her Ringtons tea and swilled the tea leaves around and you can clearly see Cisse scoring the goal.

She’s also told me that a Brugge player gets sent off after 37 minutes for his second bookable offence. She saw that through her crystal ball. 😀

  12. Wolfie – You know the kid of people I mean 😉

Axel – I’m actually on the opposite side of France tonight, in Bolougne-Sur-Mer. French only here buddy. Should have been in Ghent in Belgium but swapped shifts 🙁

  13. There should be a few decent streams. It’s being shown on a paysite I belong to and they generally only link matches that are being televised somewhere in English….

  14. Richie @ 40 don’t bother giving us all the details that we don’t need to know, just get the working links and hoy them on here, you are the link man after all

  17. Tis okay toonsy, used one of the other links 😉 . Hope Campbell gets some time off from the bench, hopefully by that point we’ll be a couple up  . Don’t think I’ve ever seen such a strong bench from us 😀 .

  18. young Albert 😀
Andy at your age you haven’t seen many bench’s now if you were as old as Richie you would have seen a helluva lot more, or if you were as old as Ice they hadn’t even thought of bench’s then 😆

Come on Lads that was a push on Cisse 👿

  19. I dunno about not being able to ref in Ireland anymore but he’ll need to stay clear of the Toon if he misses any more blatent pens like that. 👿

  20. Penalty incident was a 50/50 incident for me, some refs will give it some won’t. If it had been the other way round we would’ve been livid that it’d been given.
