Game On! Brighton v Newcastle

Game on at the AMEX
Game on at the AMEX
Welcome one and all to this “Game On” article which today will see us do battle with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Yes that is correct, the FA Cup is here once again and ordinarily I’d be up for the cup. I just can’t seem to get myself excited about this year though.

Still that is just me and I don’t want to tread on any toes so if you still have love for the cup don’t let me get in the way. We still have to play the game anyway so me may aswell try and win the **** thing, although we’ve been trying, and failing miserably, to do that for weeks now. Perhaps, in that case, the cup could be just the distraction we need? I doubt it…

United head to Sussex looking to avenge our fourth round exit of last season when Will Buckley’s deflected strike was enough to give the home side a 1-0 win and send Newcastle tumbling out of the cup to lower league opposition for a second year running.

The match preview for this game is online here for you to peruse at your leisure. It features news of injury concerns for both sides, a brief look at the history of the fixture and some facts and stats to whet your appetite.

As ever team news will be published in full below, and today it will be provided by Big Dave as I don;t actually finish work until halfway through the first half. I’m sure he’ll have the team news up as and when it becomes available.

We’re on ITV1 which is when you know the masses are looking for an upset, but on the plus side it should mean that getting a stream from them, or from any of the overseas broadcasters showing the game, should be pretty easy. Once again normal rules apply and if you happen to find a decent one then please feel free to share it with your fellow NUFC fans.

Howay the lads!

Brighton:Ankergren; David, Greer, El-Abd, Bridge; Hammond, Bridcutt, Dicker; Orlandi, Mackail-Smith, Barnes

Subs:Kuszczak, Dunk, Crofts, LuaLua, Buckley, Dobbie, Hoskins.

Newcastle: Elliot; Tavernier, Williamson, Perch, Santon; Anita, Bigirimana; Obertan, Abeid, Sammy Ameobi; Shola Ameobi.

Subs: Krul, Dummett, Ferguson, Amalfitano, Marveaux, Campbell, Ranger.

I simply don’t understand Pardews decision to play a weakened side. We needed a win, Pardew desperately needed a win, we should have the players to win.

    Horrendous decision! 🙁

  2. So Scum and Villa both show some fighting spirit to draw and win respectivly 🙄 Well that’s extra games for them then 😉

  3. Troy,
I am very concerned with Padew, he has the look of a condemned man. 😉

      (Quote)

  4. some of our players today arn’t good enough to wear the colours, in some cases it’s not their fault because they are not ready yet but then some look as if they’ll never be ready.

      (Quote)

  5. Rumours persist that our skipper has had a fall out with Pardew ❗
Moral not looking good within the camp.

  6. Get rid of Pards. He’s lost it.

Dave, if training is on a wednesday, you best sent Shola out with the nets on a Tuesday because it will take him a good 12 hours to travel from the stores to the 1st goal!

  7. Horror show. Watched some of it again because I couldn’t believe we could be that bad. I was wrong we were that bad. They were hungrier for the ball, more poised in possession. Bridge showed our fullbacks how to play the position. Shola was hopeless. Why play the entire first half with Shola completely isolated up front? I have real misgivings about Pardew now. He seems to be devoid of ideas. Ranger was pathetic. Get him out of the club. This has become an embarassment to the club. They should apologize and refund every supporter who went down there. Shamefull in all honesty. 👿

  8. We’ve seen some fairly horrible play from the team this season but this takes the cake. Willo’s defending on their second goal was pub league quality at best. Wrong side of his man then takes a step away when the ball goes through. Hopeless. Please don’t defend him on here again anyone. It’s worse than pathetic for a professional. The club is in deep trouble now.

  9. Shamrock thats ok sure he does fuk all else anyway 😆

TGS I thought it seemed a bit strange that after the story broke about him looking out, the next thing is he has a niggle ❓ But I have been saying from the start of the season that things just don’t look right, and the players don’t really look happy.

      (Quote)

  10. Even the commentators tore a strip off of us. I can’t blame them at all. We were an embarassment to the Premier league today. The way we’re playing it will be us in the Championship next season struggling in mid-table, not Brighton. What exactly was the plan for that game? If these were some of our promising young players then we need to think about our recruitment policies again. Pardew looks shell-shocked to me. Maybe he has PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). He should have after today.

      (Quote)

  11. What load of bollocks will Pardew come up with now? He should stand up there and say his side was useless and that it will not be allowed to continue. Enough on here have stated the obvious, that both Ameobi’s were hopeless. And Shola is one of our two senior strikers. That should scare the hell out of the supporters.

      (Quote)

  12. Do we think he’s lost the dressing room ? if so why ,would it be-A ,tactics .B,giving into player demands (Ba) and causing unrest .C,Not pushing the owners to bring in reinforcments or D,all of the above. Thoughts.

      (Quote)

  13. Been saying all season, the problem lies with Pardoh and his ruddy useless clogger coaches.
The younguns are making no progress whatsoever.
Our fitness levels are off the bottom of the scale.
We have no leaders on or off the pitch.
Our head coach hasn’t got a clue how to set up a team for a match.
There is no game-plan. We neither man-mark nor zone-mark.
We dont have a clue how to ‘up’ the tempo of the game, or press the ball to put the other team under pressure.
Cant tackle, cant pass very well, cant defend as a unit or as individuals, cant create any openings, cant shoot, cant score from set pieces.
Headless chickens all over the park.
Total and utter shambles. 11 individuals running around without a clue.
No plan of attack and no plan in defence.
    PARDOH OUT NOW. 👿

      (Quote)

  14. Many have said it already today on here but don’t our players look woefully slow. Watching Manure and West Spam they are playing at a different tempo to us

      (Quote)

  15. I dont wana hear it. Just want a new manager. To me, Pards looks lost. The team is not trying hard enough and we lack any kind of edge or ability to freshen it up when behinds. I honestly believe he is out of his depth now. He has got his technical players but has no idea how to use them.

Lets have a technical minded foreign coach.

      (Quote)

  16. It’s important to remember he does suffer 2nd season syndrome as a manager and does have a history of losing a dressing room if you listen to previous players at other clubs. Think we should give him the benefit of the doubt, if after the top lads return things don’t improve I would be inclined to want him gone before it’s too late but it pains me to say it as it was nice having a bit of stability last season. 🙄

      (Quote)

  17. Kim I think a mix of a few things but I don’t think it has just happened I think it’s being going on all season, I can remember Steve Wraith said at the start of the season that there was trouble behind the scenes but he was called all sorts , I stated at the time I believed him and and still do.

So Shamrock and BB is that you’s officially declaring that you’s want Pards out ???

      (Quote)

  18. I don’t understand how he got us playing with spirit and heart last season and yet there is non of that this season . It looked on the cards for a return having watched us V Manure and Arsenal but we have dropped off again .I know it was a weak side today but still we had some top players out there ,it’s almost as if they were told ,look don’t over do it the league is our priority. If that’s the case we’ll soon see in our next PL game.I’m hopeing to see a big improvement or it really will be squeaky *** time .

      (Quote)

  19. Haven’t seen the game, and dont want to.
Listened to the whole charade on talk shyte and 5 live. Both were doing commentary, and both, quite rightly stated how abject we were.
I dont care that this was our so called reserve squad (it wasn’t anyway), but surely our reserve players should be at the top of their game pushing for the starting 11 ❓
This bunch of players would struggle to get a starting place for the Heed ffs.
When you are a ressie, you have to make the absolute most of any oportunity you get, to show the boss how good you are and what you can do.
Honestly, the attitude of the whole squad STINKS.
    Why ffs why ❓

      (Quote)

  20. yes Big Dave. I’m nailing my colours to the mast now.
I know this wasn’t an important match, in the grand scheme of things, but I have seen enough to convince me, that Pardoh has lost the plot.
He hasn’t got a clue. He is relying on a few players with a touch of class to dig us out the ****. It isn’t going to work. We need more than that and he dont have it.
Pardoh OUT now before its too late.

      (Quote)

  21. BB there was only one person I seen call them the reserve side and I can’t work that one out as out of the 11 that started I would say 2 of them are reserve players

      (Quote)

  22. BB , Honestly ,I reckon every player knows how limited our owners ambition is ,it’s enough to make even the most optomistic player lose heart . It doesn’t excuse it or make their displays right but could maybe explain it . They ain’t become **** overnight, not all of em anyway , so it has to be a common factor and for what it’s worth reckon Dave is bang on about unrest in the squad since season start.

      (Quote)

  23. What do we need from our next three games Norwich (away) Reading (home) Villa (away). Six points, a minimum of five any less and I then can see Pardew being under massive pressure plus by then the transfer window will be closing and the board wouldn’t have to bank roll a new manager.
Our previous three games Manure **** and Everton we got zero points but a positive spin on that is it is only really a loss of one point. Never getting anything in the two away games and I would have been happy with a draw against a good Everton side

      (Quote)

  24. Dave – Yep. He looks pale, worried. His body language is not comfortable. The team is flat, not working hard, no fluidity. When we go behind, all he does is revert to long ball. I dont think he knows how to coach technical players. To be honest i dont think any modern English manager knows how. They never played that way themselves and cannot relate to it.

His history always follows this pattern. He never takes the blame himself in interviews. He contradicts himself. Today he said the players tried their best. Doing what? Following his sub standard orders? Because I did not see much tracking back, much focus… Even Shola getting frustrated, Mr bloody so laid back he’s horizontal!

Something is not right and we need to act before we go down again, because if we do we will lose all these technical players and end up struggling badly – as Llambastad wont strike it lucky and end up with a group like this on the cheap again…

      (Quote)

  25. well apart from playing totally **** at least we can concentrate on the league without distractions.

One thing is certain tho, players like Obertan, Williamson, Sammy, Ranger and a few others should be way down the pecking order. These players arent good enuf.

It just shows how **** our squad is. Pardew is a puppet who i’m seriously starting to doubt. He is now admitting again we messed up not signing players. We were never going to sign players as Fat mike doesnt like spending but as long as puppetboy can paper over the crack with glossy comments Mike will see another year out without spending..

      (Quote)

  26. Those calling for Pardews head and blaming him for today are wrong IMO.
We have some winnable PL games coming up and some of our players needed a rest today. Colo and Cisse had slight knocks so were right not to be risked today. Other than those 2, I’m not quite sure who else Pardew was meant to pick?!. The team was only really weakened by dropping Krul and Marv as none of the others were available. Most, including me looked at that team and formation and thought, aye that should be enough to see us through today. Only it wasn’t, and that’s thanks to the player, not Pardew!.
I was annoyed before the players even took to the pitch today. To see Obertan walk down the tunnel with his hands behind his back as if he were taking a fucking Sunday stroll with dog!!
He never looked up for the game even before it kicked off. Then about 15mins in he broke on the right and ran it into the box and hit another **** cross, loosing the ball and made no effort to win it back – walking back!. Then he allowed Bridge to go past him with ease for their first. He was a disgrace to the shirt today and he wasn’t alone.
I had to go out shortly after their first goal but was listening on the radio. The commentator kept referring to their players as Championship players – OURS were championship players!!, our theirs played with fight, determination and a desire to win. They chased the ball down when they didn’t have it and made themselves available for each other when they did have it.
These players are employed by NUFC and should be played and should be held accountable. It’s all to easy blaming Pardew, but forget about these players not being good enough, they didn’t even fucking try!!.
If we were beat 2-0 but every player left everything they had out on the pitch then fair enough. That wasn’t the case and that’s what angers me. We need to move players from our squad and Obertan and Williamson would head my list. We need players with hunger and heart in our squad – players who will put as much effort in away to Brighton as they would away to Man Utd. That was a long way for our fans to travel today and a long way back after that performance. It’s the players who should refund them, not the manager or the board.

      (Quote)

  27. I’ll take a break now and listen to what you lads and lasses have to say. Shamrock @297 absolutely spot on. This was a clown show plain and simple. Our players should be hanging their heads in shame. Pardew should be packing his bags. Any team with a decent owner would sack Pardew and Llambias and start over. But that would cost money and a drinking buddy. We can’t have that can we?

      (Quote)

  28. BB who would replace him with ??
I have to stick with him as I can’t see anyone better taking over and it would kill me to see JFK back.
If I was 99% sure that there was a good manager that would come in I would nail my colours but I can’t see it happening.
Add to that that he was screwed by the Regime in the summer so hasn’t really had much help from them.

      (Quote)

  29. People on here were saying that Tomkins was ****. Watching him on the telly he does some strange things like run fast, pass the ball and marks men. Wouldn’t fit into our squad

      (Quote)

  30. Big Dave – so if they aren’t reserve players, then are you happy with the performance of our 1st team ❓
I want to see more than that.
If the players aren’t happy, then I would expect to see transfer request flying in. But I’m not seeing ONE.
T he performance of each player lays with themselves, but the overall performance of the team ultimately lays at the manager/coaches feet.
The buck has to stop with him imo. It always has.

      (Quote)

  31. Shamrock @327,Exactly , to go down again would be disaster ,we havn’t got a hope in hell of a swift return again and the financal losses don’t bare thinking about .We’d have a mass exodus of players as no way Benny ,Cabs,Debuchy , Tiote, Cisse et al would hack or want the championship and Ash would probably want them off the wage bill too..Even Colo would run for cover as it would be the chance to rejoin his dad in San Lorenzo .

      (Quote)

  32. Martinez or someone from overseas. There are plenty of decent managers out there, but we’ll have to pay for one. Good managers are rarely available and out of contract…

      (Quote)

  33. as much as pardew is a puppet, a useless fu*k with **** tactics and team selections, unfortunately whoever replaces him will have no money and will have to work for the two ronnies upstairs. We’re in the deep so we might as well let clueless Pardew try and keep us up for now.

      (Quote)

  34. Gus Poyet looks like a far better manager than ours to me. He has that team well organized both in defence and on attack. He makes the most of the players he has. They played as a tight, disciplined unit whereas we panicked and booted the ball all over the field, couldn’t pass and couldn’t shoot.

      (Quote)

  35. Kim @ 325 no it doesn’t excuse it but it’s a natural reaction from within, Why give everything you can for the team when you see that the Regime isn’t going to do the same or provide the tools to do the job better. actually the players probably see all their effort being threw back in their face and they’re then expected to do even more 😯

Sham so who do you think would replace him ??

      (Quote)

  36. @ 331.
We’ve been over this ‘who to replace him’ with debate a few times already this season. I accept the options are few and far between. But I refuse to accept there is NO ONE.

      (Quote)

  37. my vote would be B Laudrup. he’s worked well with a small squad with neat, clever football. but I’d expect Laudrup to have ambition lol

its never gonna happen. Lets see who we get in this window. We have our power-brokering delegates overseas now as we speak searching for talent.. 😯

      (Quote)

  38. Also it doesn’t matter who WE want to replace him.
Thats a decision to be taken by the Fat controller and his limp side-kick.
I agree about Poyet. He had his team set up right and well drilled.
They all knew what they had to do either defending or attacking.
Poyet shows more ability than Pardoh. Simple as that.
But he wouldn’t be my choice.
I bet he would jump at the chance tho.
As already stated above, it wont come cheap tho.

      (Quote)

  39. TOBY LE RHONE i personally would love too see TOMKINS signed , a good english defender that knows the premiership and knows the manager from his west ham days . Meaning the bedding in time would be quicker and easier than another player from outside the premiership ,add to that he is better than Williamson and dare i say it S Taylor he would improve the team .

      (Quote)

  40. I am sure most of our players don’t want to play hoofball but isn’t that why Pardew persists with Shola up front. Also I don’t buy the Pardew’s reasons for playing him up front against Everton in preference to Cisse. our best football has been played on the deck.

      (Quote)

  41. I do think its time for a foreign coaching set up.
Why have all these foreign players with technical ability, if we employ a coach who has none.

      (Quote)

  42. (THIS IS A GOVERNMENT HEALTH WARNING. THIS POSTER IS LIABLE TO DISAGREE WITH YOUR POINT OF VIEW. ONLY ENGAGE IF YOU AREN’T SENSITIVE AND DON’T TAKE HISSY FITS)

I don’t see us being in much a different position as last time some were discussing sacking Pardew.
My thoughts remain the same, I don’t believe there is a manager who is better who would work under Ashley.
We are only halfway thru the season and because Pards worked wonders last season then he deserves the time to work through the problems he’s facing.
Lets not forget Everton finished 5th one season and the next 17th.
Wigan lost 8 games in a row last season and were bottom of the league before finishing 15th.
We simply have an owner who will never spend enough to maintain a steady ship no matter who the manager is.
I still believe we will get out this mess by the end of the season however I never expect anything other than mediocrity. But I put that down to the owner not the manager.

      (Quote)

  43. Wonder what a lot of people will be saying about Pardew at the end of the season when we finish top 10 ? remember he was manager of the year last season and we all were loving him . The fact is he can only work with the tools given to him and all said and done the only extra tools he got was Anita and Bigi when he needed Debuchy and at least 1 good CB as well .

      (Quote)

  44. BB @ 333 😯 do you really need to ask me am I happy with the performance of our team 😆
I am making the point that someone tried to excuse the players today as they’re only reserve players, no they’re fuking not and even if they were they should still be ashamed of themselves 😈
As for another excuse it’s just an extra distraction that we don’t need 😯 WTF you should go out to win every game no matter what it is, winning breeds winners.
BB as for me asking who you want to replace him with I know weve been over it all before I just find it strange that someone calls for him to be sacked if they don’t even have the name of a manager that they think would replace him and work under the constraints of the Regime. Thats like saying sack him 1st then we’ll look around see who is available or who we get. IMO if your going to sack a manager you need to have someone lined up or know who you want to replace them with 🙄

      (Quote)

  45. I wasn’t suggesting we hire Poyet as our manager BB@342. I just wanted to make the comparison because it was so obvious who was doing the better job. Technical players like Ben Arfa, Colo, and Cabaye must be looking at Pardew and shaking their heads wondering what he is trying to do. I think we have to admit now that Pardew is struggling horribly and doesn’t know how to change. It is clearly going to come down to the next 3 league games as we have been saying for a while now. If we don’t get at least 4 or 5 points (we should be aiming for 6 or 7) from those 3 games I think Pardew must be sacked to save the season.

      (Quote)

  46. People keep calling for Martinez, does he have a better win percentage than Pardew does he?
Sir Alex fucking Ferguson couldn’t even get Obertan to play football!!. There have been as many overseas managers who have been a huge flop in the league, so saying get an overseas manager in doesn’t guarantee they’ll turn things round. Then I’ve heard people slate Brendan Rodgers, Sam Alladyce, Clueless Chris and others who have a better win percentage than Pardew. Paul Lambert was class at Norwich, Villa paid good money for his expertise but it hasn’t happened, so even buying a manager who is good at one club does buy you guaranteed success.

      (Quote)

  47. GROUCHO @ 344 I have been calling for Cisse to be played there all season but I didn’t like his decision to replace Ba for Strolla at Everton but I did understand why he done it 😕

      (Quote)

  48. Dave – Martinez. He knows his technical football and has no issues working on a limited budget. Think he’d go for it too.

      (Quote)

  49. How about Bert van Marwijk for a new manager? Has the experience and the technical training.

      (Quote)

  50. Sham I really don’t think he would leave the comforts and good relationship he has to work for the fuk pot we have. add to that that I know he plays some nice footie but I don’t really think he is any better than the one we have.
As I believe the same as Troy that after last season Pards deserves the chance to get us back up and running, but it will mean Jabba will have to help him out as he should have done in the summer so he owes it to Pards aswell ❓

      (Quote)

  51. When you consider the Hammers nearly didn’t get back up to the PL they are looking better than us, pacy ,hungry spirited need I go on 🙄

      (Quote)

  52. It’s a very tough choice now as far as Pardew goes. I do agree with those that say he hasn’t been supported enough from Ashley as Big Dave and Icedog and others have pointed out. But we are in deep trouble now and Pardew looks like a ghost on the sidelines. Some of the players have let him down badly as has the owner/MD. Where to go from here? A man with plums as the owner would admit to a complete cockup in the off-season but we’re not going to get that from Ashley. What’s most likely to happen is we will either limp through and finish somewhere between 15th and 17th or we will finish 18th and Ashley will throw his hands up and put the club up for sale again. That’s how gutless he is.

      (Quote)

  53. Shamrock – Martinez may play more technical football but he doesn’t play more successful football mate. Surely if you replace your manager you want it to be with one who has a better win percentage than the one leaving?! 😕
Martin Tyler listed 11 players we were missing today, and there were more players he didn’t name. Any manager who struggle with that many absentees. But this also goes back to the squad not being strong enough and Pardew not being backed in the summer.
Don’t get me wrong, Pardew makes mistakes and is far from brilliant!. But today was not down to him getting it wrong, it was down to lazy, under performing players.

      (Quote)

  54. Aye Big Dave @356 I had to look him up too. 😉 In fact there aren’t many decent managers available so I was left grasping at straws. Still I’m not sure what we should do other than Ashley spend and support the manager he thought deserved an 8 year contract.

      (Quote)

  55. G2 ,If he could get the right coin ,he’d flog us tommorow ,there is no love there just profit imo .we are one big advertising sign ,which is exactly what he brought us for ,he was quite honest about that . I would give me back teeth for a super rich local owner.

      (Quote)

  56. Sharpy – If you look purely at win ratio you would have a good point, but then you need to consider the level of ability of squad he inherited and continues to work with.

If the big boss looks at this and decides Pardew’s job is safe then he needs to stop pratting about and seriously invest for the long term success and security of the club. If he thinks it’s too much of a risk to spend bigbthen he obviously has no faith in the manager’s ability and needs to move him along.

The board needs to act positively now, one way or the other.

      (Quote)

  57. I understand the ones calling for Pards head I really do. But I just don’t think there is anyone else that will work for the Regime, and I do know that Pards isn’t the be all and end all I wouldn’t even class him in my top whatever of managers but he is decent he does make mistakes and comes off with some ****, and the bit I hate the most is that he is always bumming Jabba up and telling us all how good he is. but I do think he hasn’t had much help and the injuries he has had are unbelievable, as Sharpy said Martin Tyler listed a whole team off 11 players we were missing today that would have been a match for anyone.
I do think if backed he will get us out of the **** but if he’s not then he will really struggle and if we did get relegated then the fuk pot Jabba will sack him and put the blame on him for getting us relegated 😈

      (Quote)

  58. Have to agree Kimtoon @362. We are just a giant hoarding in his mind. I just can’t see real success coming with this owner. Success comes from skill and hard work. The skill comes at all levels of the club including owner and managing director. It does take patience but also spending properly when required and this we will not do under Ashley. And he won’t sack his flunky Llambias. It’s just too much of a handicap for us

      (Quote)

  59. Regarding the support Pardew needs and deserves – I think we may all need to get real with expectations as well though. May be the position we find ourselves in puts the likes of Remy beyond us, and certainly those suggests of Howedes and Alderwiereld are miles away.
Maybe we have to accept that actually players like Danny Graham are not only more in price range but are more achievable to bring in, and could have walked into that team today.
I’ve said it in the passed but players like Puncheon would have walked into that team today and Matt Phillips. They may not be the big names we all think NUFC should be attracting and signing, but transfer windows need to be about improving your squad with the money you have to spend, not just being linked and chasing players you’re unlikely to sign, or that will only sign with stupid buy out clauses in them.

      (Quote)

  60. Sharpy did Remy not say that he was after CL footie ??
If he seen todays game i’m sure it will make him think twice anyway 😀 as im sure Debuchy was a bit pissed watching that today thinking whats he got himself in to 😆

Our transfer policy for this window has to be about quantity. We need three to four players in to maintain premier league status. We cannot afford to spunk 12 million plus the high wages that the price tag brings on one player

  63. Maybe Ashley doesn’t trust Pardew to spend his millions wisely in the January window … 😉

  64. Axel, if Pardew turns the club round and we finish 10th then i WILL SHOUT HALLELUJAH and praise him to the heavens.

At the moment we are absolutely pathetic, and I will hammer him for that.

That’s the name of the game in football… It’s not as if we are a teensy weensy bit ****, and losing now and then. We are being battered by everyone we meet.

  65. appologies for stirring up a hornets nest.
We shouldn’t even be having this discussion tbh.
I dont understand how we can give Pardew more time to turn things around. We have been awful all season. How much longer can he have.
If we stick with him and we still get relegated, then what.:?:
    It too effing late then.
He looks absolutely shell shocked on the touch line.
I honestly think he believed he had set us up right to win today, and was genuinely shocked we didn’t. (As he should be)
But if he thinks we are lacking quality with the side he put out, then do something about it.
Put half the squad up for sale tomorrow if needs be, but grow some balls ffs.
If he believes he can sort it out, then DO IT, but so far he has drawn a blank, game after game.
If he cant sort it out, then fall on your sword.
I’m sure there are many managers who would take the chance to work under ashley. I just cant accept its pardew or nobody. Thats lame.

  66. Shamrock – granted, but then does that make a good player in a **** team a good player?, Also the same would have to apply for Pardew, and when he had a full strength team last season and was doing well, I didn’t hear many calling for his head then. It was the players today, and had he been back in the summer we may have found ourselves in a far better position.

  67. Like everyone, I’m seething after watching that crock of sh*te that was dished up today. While we are down to the bare bones, quite honestly we looked devoid of ideas, technique, tactics, desire etc etc. Any young un’s should have been up for this to show what they are made of but instead virtually all of them were pathetic, I’ve seen better from my local pub team. At least ‘arry gave the QPR lot a kick up the **** last week and said publicly he wouldnt stand for a poor attitude and lack of enthusiasm from the team. They then go on to beat Chelsea. Maybe he could have a word with some of our players as I’m sick of listening to Pardew’s mixed message drivel and I’m sure the players are. If we are really depending on some of those players and Pardew, Stone and Carver to help us avoid the drop, then god help us.
