Game On! QPR v Newcastle

Game On at Loftus Road
Game On at Loftus Road
The message as we head into our penultimate game of the season is really quite simple – win at Loftus Road and we eliminate ourselves from the possibility of being relegated.

We can the head into the final game of the season – at home to Arsenal – without any real pressure knowing that we have Premier League football to look forward to next season.

A win at QPR, with their squad of expensive signings who will no doubt be looking for a way out of the club in the next few weeks, should be simple. Already resigned to relegation, and with the poorest home record in the league, they have nothing to play for other than pride whilst we have everything still on the line. However our away record this season suggests that we won’t win this game although I am of course waiting to be pleasantly surprised.

For some more background on the match, along with injury news, a look at the history of the fixture between the two clubs, some facts and stats for both sides and some random thinking at the end, why not head over and read my match preview which is online here.

The game itself is not being shown live on the TV here in the UK. However there are a number of overseas TV channels who have chosen to broadcast the match so catching a stream shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Hopefully. If you happen to find a good stream then please feel free to share it with your fellow Newcastle fans by leaving a link in the ‘comments’ section below.

Team news will be provided by myself today before I head off to work and miss the match, which is probably a good omen for us to be fair. I will endeavour to add the teamsheet in full at the bottom of this article.

Now is the time to deliver.

Howay the lads!

  5. Kim, might as well wonder if he got sent off on purpose to make sure that Harps could finish his NUFC career on the field.

Actually, I like that theory, and so choose to believe it. 😎

  14. No Kim. Since villa play Wigan, even if Wigan win we’d be a point better than them. A draw and Wigan goes down. We’re safe

  15. We haven’t got a fuking clue.

At least we are clueless in the big league though. Thank flock for that….

  16. Collo was awesome, Williamson looked ok and Mbiwa is our best left back – not sure on Debuchy though – poor game

  25. What a player Colo is (apart from little slip up at the end). Please stay. We look so much better in defence with him there. Williamson I thought also played well.

  26. Good job MA was there to see that. I can’t imagine for one second he enjoyed what he saw.

  27. So i heard Mourinho wants to come back PL. Any chance of finally taking up newcastle hotseat?

    😆 😆

Since he did rejected lat sir bobby robson offer in the past.

  28. Well thank f— for that. Wasn’t half nervy though. Well if results go our way and we beat Arsenal then we’ll be 10th  .

  29. WTF did Pardew tell the team at half time? My guess is the same as every halftime talk when we’re leading “sit back and we’ll coast this one”. It’s ridiculous and has to be sorted out.

  30. Rodo-Agree mate. He was poor this season by his standards but he is top notch in reality. He is absolutely crucial. I pray we can hold on to him just for another year or two.

I’m so happy, all the clubs that I hate the most are still with a shout of relegation  Good luck to all the c*nts. I 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈

  31. Love it for Wigan to win on Tuesday. If they don’t, the relegation excitement will end with a whimper, after promising so much.

      (Quote)

  32. Andy @369 – it would have been more along the lines of “keep it tight at the back”. Debuchy was listening, at least.

  33. Perfect game for Harps to bow out next week. Elliot looks like he was feeling too much stress.
