Game On! Newcastle v Liverpool

St James' Park.

St James' Park.
Game On at St James’ Park
It’s an early start today as Liverpool visit St James’ Park in this Saturday lunchtime encounter.

United will be keen to banish the memories of last season and the 6-0 defeat inflicted upon us by Liverpool but to do so they will need to be at their very best.

Liverpool have started the season well and occupy second spot prior to kick-off, but a point will take them top ahead of Arsenal albeit that may only be the case on a temporary basis depending on their result against Norwich at the Emirates. Anyway, it’s far too early in the season to be worrying about league position… Isn’t it?

News of injuries for both sides, some stats and facts and a history of the fixture are available to view in the match preview which was posted yesterday and can be viewed via the links at the bottom of the article. Team news, as ever, will be posted in below as and when it becomes available.

We are being shown here in the UK on the new BT Sport channel which is a first for us I believe. Overseas we’re being broadcast on a load of channels throughout the world so picking up a stream will, hopefully, be simple enough. If you do find a good one then please don’t be shy with and leave a link to it in the ‘comments’ section below.

That’s just about it really. No need to babble on any further so I’ll leave you all to “go with the flow” as it were. I just hope that we aren’t left talking about another horror show come full-time.

Howay the lads!

  1. 1 – Liverpool have scored just one second half goal in their previous seven PL matches this season. Splutter.

Hope this stat stays on. 😆 😆

@Toonsy: We might have an angry cisse that may seal the game off. 😉

  2. Congratulations to all those who predicted that our defenders wouldn’t be able to keep the scoreline at 1-1. Ashley out, sack Kinnear, politely request that Pardew resign, etc.

    😉

  3. Benny is pissing me off today!.
Drew 4-5 players in then lost it! – he has to do more up there like – take it into the corners and keep it in there half – just to give our defenders a breather

  4. We just need to keep hold of it forget the long shots just goes straight back to them . Anita and Sammy on ,can’t argue with that , rest Cabs now for the Scum.

  5. Remy again should have taken that to the corner!!.
Nee support as head there and let players get up and support – if not you’ve killed 30sec to a minute!.

  8. Very good point considering some of the pre match predictions. We were in control until the sending off and were playing some nice football. Unlucky!! Bring on Sunderland.

  9. Tell you what, that was a good game and we were very good in the 1st until Mbiwa went off.

I’m not sure how harshly to judge him on that foul & pen.

  10. A very well deserved point and considering the way the game went we were better than them .I would of took a point before kick off but today i think we saw a team that we can all be proud of .

  11. A really top performance. Well done and a great point. The backline were brilliant especially Dummett and Debuchy. I’ve given Debuchy a lot of stick but he was superb.

The ref however was a t*** trying to rob us at every opportunity (especially with the time “added on” after 94 mins.

  14. Ref needs a kicking ,even allowing for time wasting that was too much ex time and stevie G should of seen a second yellow too, instead he gets MOTM from that little twerp Owen. 👿
