Game On! Newcastle v Crystal Palace

Game On at SJP
Game On at SJP
Good day everyone and welcome to this article which will take us through the visit of Crystal Palace this afternoon.

Alan Pardew serves the second of his three game stadium ban so it will be John Carver who is tasked with trying to get us a victory following the disappointing defeat to Fulham last weekend.

For Palace it’s a second consecutive away fixture in the North-East following their 0-0 draw at Sunderland last weekend. Currently perched just above the drop zone Tony Pulis will be looking for a similar result or perhaps even better this time around as he attempts to keep his side clear of relegation.

Early injury news, a history of the fixture detailing the head-to-head record with a few facts and stats thrown in can be found in the match preview which is online here.

The game, as with all Saturday 3pm kick-offs, is not being broadcast live here in the UK although some overseas channels have the game listed for transmission so those not at the game will be relying on streams to watch the game. Have a look in the ‘comments’ below because there is usually a few links to watch the match posted in there somewhere.

Team news will be published below as soon as I can possibly get round to it.

On the surface this should be a home banker but it never works out that way with United. Take no notice of league positions as they don’t really matter. Palace and Pulis will make a game of this and we’ll have to be at our best to beat them.

Howay the lads!

  1. I’m on a high tonight after Brisbane won the league with 3 games to spare, so I don’t think anything that happens v Palace will bring me down, but it’d make my night if we won.

    Howay the lads.

  2. Thanks Toonsy ,hope you are feeling better now.

Not sure what result we’ll get today tbh, just want a good performance from all and hopefully a good win. Last week put me in a coma it was that boring, think we could of been there all day and never got a goal which given Fulhams cack defence is pretty shocking. So better job all round please lads . HWTL 😀

Oh ok, fair enough then. That is, as long as Saylor doesn’t get on the pitch.
I’m going 3-1 to the toon, De Jong to start his goal tally, Cisse to break his dry spell (either with a really lucky goal or an absolute stunner) and I’m gunna say that Sissoko will score the third.

  4. Toonsy spot on with this “On the surface this should be a home banker but it never works out that way with United. ”
However I still think we should win it as Palace have been struggling to score, oh wait I forgot without Remy we are the same 😯

  5. Mike Ashley is making a rare appearance at St James’ Park today. First time for a home game since September? #Nufc

  6. Fuuuuuuuuuck, Cisse so unlucky this season. Wicked shot, great save, super work from De-ding-dong.

  7. anyone have a good link to the game by any chance? It would be helpful and much appreciated, thank you so much…

  8. I don’t know what is more frustrating:
The fact that Tiote is shooting too much and getting his forward passing all wrong, or that players like Anita/Sissoko aren’t doing it at all.
Tiote shouldn’t be the one trying to fill Cabaye’s void – Anita needs to step his game up massively.

  9. I despair of our set pieces, they are beyond ****. should be a couple up though, Cisse very unlucky today but has been playing well I think.

  10. If Mike SmallBerries can’t see we’re a team in trouble now, he never will. Will he spend anything in the summer to help us?

  11. Powder puff.

Glad we didnt sign LD Jong.

Still think we’ll have enough to win. If not, Carver oot! 😀

  12. i think BenArfa on for DeJong second half and we will score 2 or 3 we were the better side first half .

  13. A lot of possession but except for Cisse’s efforts amounting to nothing. Pulis teams know how to man mark. Aye Mark that’s about what I’m expecting from Mike. Half of nothing mate.

  14. All one-way traffic as Norwich took the lead through Robert Snodgrass before Alex Tettey’s wonder-strike doubled their advantage. 😀

Sunderland have Palace @home nxt game. tough game..

  15. G2 , I read a link yesterday where apparently we won’t be bothering to get a DOF in now. They will appoint an exc to oversee the money side of transfers and leave who we go for between Pards, Carr and Charney. Apparently Pards has backed this up and said work is ongoing after the three of them have put names forward.

  16. But how much money from SmallBerries Kimtoon? That’s the big question. What a mess! If we dither like the last 2 summer windows then we will be lost next season.

  17. @Kimtoon.
same rhetoric as always.. I’ll hold my breath on signings

Not sure I’d trust Pards with cash. he was after Bent last season 😯

  18. i hope thats right KIM lets face it dof’s dont work for us we have had 2 and they both left the club in a mess.

  19. I can see them toe rags playing for a draw and then getting a late sneaky one 👿 We must get more creative second half ,time for either Marv or Benny to redeem himself. 😉

  20. Lads ,yeah I just hope Pards wants decent players like, not plodders who just do a job and that he feels he can cope/work with. We need some exciting players who can turn a game and not sure that’s Pards style of player . Looking at our currant flair guys he seems to have issues with them .
