EASTER CHICKENS AND NO SIGN OF A RESURRECTION!

EASTER CHICKENS
EASTER CHICKENS

Five in a row t shirts are being sold over in the land of the great unwashed. Oh how they gloat, and who can deny them their 5th moment of glory, or the gift of yet another 6 points to ensure they stave off relegation for yet another season. Yes, 6 points that we could do with right now to stave off our own fears of getting dragged into the relegation mire. It’s inconceivable to me that we can lose yet again, not because we are brilliant, more because Sunderland are awful as their recent league form shows. Even allowing for our team being at the bare bones in players we should have put up a better fight than we did. Only Janmaat and Jonas can come out with their heads held high and the former played the entire game injured (tear in calf)! The fact he played and could possibly have worsened his condition is proof positive that this club is operating at a rank amateur level. Credit to the lad for risking his health on the day but it’s utter madness it really is.
If the likes of Sissoko and Krul are looking for a big move away in the summer they didn’t do their credentials much good yesterday, indeed in the case of Krul, congratulating Defoe in the tunnel all smiles to boot over his wonder goal, you’d have to question his team player skills. There is a time and place to high five an opposition player and it isn’t half time in the tunnel in view of the cameras. As for Sissoko, he was anonymous as were most of them to be fair.
For all Carvers rhetoric in the build up to the match, in the end everything from the team selection down to tactics and game plan (or lack of) was a damp squib. That Sunderland only got the one goal first half was the biggest shock for me. How you can have Defoe, Wickham and Fletcher up top and still only win from a wonder strike is quite shocking and says more about them than us. Like Newcastle, they may survive, just.
So around about the mid way mark I started to ask myself, what’s the point? We start out at the beginning of the season knowing full well we won’t win the league, won’t win a cup, won’t make Europe and will be lucky to make top ten. That’s assuming our owner hasn’t sold our best player/players by then and replaced with cheap and cheerful or worse not replaced at all. Well there is always the Derby, our own little cup final, except there isn’t even that anymore is there? When is the last time we sent out a team who were really up for it on the day? Forget the fact they change their manager for every Derby, they just seem to take it more seriously than our lot do. If they played with that passion every game they wouldn’t need 6 points a season from us to avoid the drop.
So if we can’t obtain Europe, cups or titles and now the Derby is seemingly off limits, what’s the point? Surely the point of any sport is to start the campaign with the aim of winning something, isn’t it?
We need an injection of enthusiasm from our owner, a renewed sense of pride and if he cannot bring himself to see the damage he has done not just to the club and it’s fan base but to a city too, then frankly he needs to go and the sooner the better for me. To be honest, the way I feel at this moment, this club feels like it’s going to hell in a hand cart.
The club has been likened to a Zombie club in recent days by pundits and rightly so. It’s the perfect analogy, but unlike the living dead the chances of this great club being resurrected to what it was to the fans is getting smaller by the day.

  1. Those who go are entitled, but by going they’re strengthening Ashleys hand and are basically giving Ashley a thumps up. They shouldn’t then complain when things go pear shaped.

      (Quote)

  2. A club like ours with huge amounts of profit available struggling to stay in 13th place and people still go and support the worst regime in football? Shame on anyone who doesn’t protest any way they can.

      (Quote)

  3. When things go pear shaped Stuart mate? Things went pear shaped when Ashley took over. Now the maggot sees how much money he can make out of the club. The only way to remove him is to make sure he understands that empty grounds are embarrassing for TV networks as well as for him.

  4. People on here and everywhere else were begging Ashley to bring a good manager in after Percy left. But Mike is a coward. He has set requirements that no decent manager will work under. He has no idea what to do now. We’ll struggle on with him preventing any real progress in the name of more profit for him. Hiding behind the debt that he never pays back to himself. Get out you coward.

  5. Huffstar & Begas.

How did you know I was referring to you? 😛

Now get back in your boxes! 😯

    Boo 😛

    Absolutely petrified of me! 😳

Got to love the two Ozzies. I’m the only one who pays them any attention these days. 😆

  6. If the chronicle don’t report on any boycott or demo that takes place then the paper deserves boycotting.

      (Quote)

  7. Troy, they haven’t had an article about the boycott yet and it’s certainly a bigger story than an article about a few summer signings which will be complete bollocks!

Telegraph have done a full article about this and it’s no coincidence that they are already banned.

      (Quote)

  8. for the boycott to have a real impact you would need at least half the st holders to boycott, that is never going to happen.

      (Quote)

  9. Hitman , Yep it’s going to fail because there is simply too much apathy and blind faith out there.

  10. its not just that kim, alot of the older st holders have seen worse than jabba, plus the young st holders know no better.the only way to get rid of jabba is with an rpg when he flies into toon 😆

  11. Hitman 😆 😆
We’ve had some terrible owners alright but I don’t think any have never wanted the club to at least try to do well. How ever bad / poor they were they did want us to be a success.

  12. This bloke just want’s the best for his baby SD, he has zero affinity with the NE or it’s people. He treats the fans as a cash cow who happily tow the line in helping to advertise his slave labour empire of tat, along with his legalised loan shark buddies.

  13. Nobody actually still believes that Ashley is interested in the club for it’s own sake do they? Nobody really believes he wants to win silverware? That he wants a team we can be proud of? Surely not. If anyone does believe that please respond now and we can talk about it. Your mental state can be cured. And no, the earth isn’t flat either.

  14. It’s strange how little we see ToonDarnSarf on here these days. With the club doing so well under Ashley it’s odd that he isn’t on here bragging about it. There were a few others as well who seem to have disappeared. Come on back lads. We want to hear from you.

      (Quote)

  15. Our goal difference for the previous 2 seasons: -16 (10th), -23 (16th). This season to date -16 (13th). Very impressive. Top class club Ashley. The way you’re building season after season towards greatness.

      (Quote)

  16. That’s a very impressive -55 cumulative total by the way Mike. You see we can keep track of numbers.

      (Quote)

  17. Some more interesting stats.
Gabriel Obertan: 6 goals in 135 league appearances; 12 goals in 191 appearances total. Yet the club pays this clown somewhere around 40K a week! Ahahahahahaha. Hilarious. I wouldn’t pay him 10 bob to go get the vindaloo.

      (Quote)

  18. Sorry those tremendous Obertan stats are wrong. They are his overall totals. He has 51 league appearances for us with a tremendous 2 goals!!! 67 appearances total and an astonishing 3 goals. And we’ve only paid him somewhere around 8M pounds for those 3 goals!

      (Quote)

  19. G2 @ 94 how do you know Oba is on £40k I would have thought he was on more than that, and if I can remember right I heard a lot of quotes of £50k+

  20. Any winger who can score 1 goal a season must be worth a fortune Mike. I imagine you’re rubbing your hands with glee thinking about what you’ll get for him. 😆

      (Quote)

  21. Big Dave the numbers I saw quoted were 35K a week and 45K a week. Very hard to get actual wage quotes mate. If it’s more than 45K it just emphasizes the point even more. Mike is a fool and so are his underlings.

      (Quote)

  22. Why would Sir Alex have sold him to us for 2M pounds if he were any good Mike? 😆

      (Quote)

  23. It’s so much fun mocking an idiot like Ashley. Everything he does at the club is by definition slimy or stupid.

      (Quote)

  24. And we haven’t forgotten about the missing profits Mike. Have you told us why costs rose so much yet? Didn’t think so.

      (Quote)

  25. And Sammy Ameobi: 49 appearances, 2 goals. He’s nearly 23 now. He seems to be on the same career path as Obertan. About 1 goal every 25 games. Very exciting.

      (Quote)

  26. “Forget about pride, passion, local bragging rights or any other intangible factor, poorly executing a negative game plan was our primary failing and behind that lies a failure to recruit players with the talent and temperament to play in the Premier League. No manager, no captain, no striker.”
Interesting little quote from NUFC.com. Have you read it Ashley? Of course not.

      (Quote)

  27. And what about our minimum goal of finishing top 10 this season Ashley? Forgotten about that one already have you?

      (Quote)

  28. I think I’m a visionary to be honest. I have been calling for a boycott for the last 6 months. Hope it works

      (Quote)

  29. So here is the situation. We approach summer while finishing out another terrible season. The players look demoralized and the head coach looks lost. The owner couldn’t care less as long as the ground is full and he gets the Prem TV money. The squad is terrible. Possibly a mid Championship capable group at best. The owner will only spend enough to keep us up. Unless we do something about it. Demonstrate at the ground or boycott but do something now before the season ends lads.

      (Quote)

  30. What I can’t understand is how anyone would not want to boycott the matches. I mean, the football is ****, the atmosphere is pathetic, constant big crowds encourages the owner to continue down his path of destructiin and soul destroying plan and let’s be totally honest, it’s better to watch the game in the pub with your mates.

I can’t really remember any positive reason why we should go to games anymore.

      (Quote)

  31. Stuart79 109 to see that happy smile on Ashley’s face while we stay in the premiership another season. Making him more millions and the loan never goes down. Sports direct have profited so much more than 129 million with us I consider the debt paid.

  32. If a boycott fails to materialise, as expected, then this will have to be the end of the moaning and groaning and whining and crying.

The maggot is NOT for turning. 😕
    Enjoy.

  33. lol visionary 😯 that was obviously just a joke 😉 if you were a visionary you wouldnt of wanted Alan here. people stopped going to the games 2yrs ago 😛

this is why I wanted Pardew out, to eventually come to this. total **** football, bad atmosphere, mutiny in the stadium. Just think if Alan was here we could be bumbling along in 11th with no signings on the cards, 😯 same **** for the next 5 years, Asley totally chuffed with his takings… we needed drastic action. But yes, we need to take advantage of it while we can or we may see Mclaren here next year to pick up Cardews mantle

  37. BB – I actually think people will find it easier not to go if they haven’t already paid for their tickets so I suspect there’ll be a natural reduction in attendances next season due to people not renewing, not just a boycott for the odd game.

      (Quote)

  38. Gashley where have you been, or have you just been fuked off with the club ❓
Stu I do agree that the fans will start to drop off, but I dont think that will annoy Jabba too much as there wont be enough to make him sit up and notice. I do think if there was enough staying away from the Spuds game it would send him a signal that the fans anger is starting to boil up

  39. With 4 games to go it looks like only two teams can win the league. Not only that, but 8th has opened up a 5pt gap on 9th and 10th. It’s all taking shape – but no doubt the visionaries saw it happening even before the first fantasy ball was kicked. With just 2 pts separating 4th from 8th, it’s a matter of jockeying for positions for the League Cup knockout phase. 1 plays 8, 2 plays 7, 3 plays … well, you get the picture.

“And we haven’t forgotten about the missing profits Mike. Have you told us why costs rose so much yet?”

I think that’s a question that should really be put to the club’s Finance Director, because Ashley probably wouldn’t know the answer.

Another question that needs to be asked is why the club still haven’t filed the accounts with the Registrar of Companies. The regulations state that companies must file their annual accounts not later than 9 months after their accounting year end date. In the case of NUFC it means that the deadline was 31st March, but according to the Companies House website they still haven’t been received.

  41. Reading the Charnley bit, I think his thoughts on the new coach are about right

I’ve said for a while that one of the biggest problems facing players moving from the U21 to the first team is that they are asked to do things alien to them. Virtually all where played out of position and the style of play is totally different. We have to implement a style and system from top to bottom, Like Arsenal & Southampton to make youngsters transition easier.

Also agree about getting rid of the manager title, When Pardew was appointed there was plenty of Hughtons a coach, Pardews a manager guff about. 4 years on you can count the goals we’ve scored from corners on one hand, Have conceded record amounts of goals and lost record amounts of matches (in a 38 game season) Its fairly obvious that we are in need of a good coach not a Manager whose duties are diluted by Carr anyway

      (Quote)

  42. Brett Strength

Let’s be fair to my mate Stuart. He’s never been a fan of Pardew’s. His point was simply to counter those who wanted Pardew out believing a better manager would be appointed. He has been proved correct so far. That makes him a visionary.

You were one of those he countered anf that makes you one of his birches. 😉

    Owned. 😆

  43. good read that link, just goes to show he would never swap his SD ads for another company as its worth so much more to SD

And some on here said it was just pocket money to Ashley 😛 🙄

Troy, he isnt your mate, (ask him) 😯 he just agrees that we wouldnt get any better than Pardew. I’m the visionary for seeing past Pardew and his mediocrity. the bigger picture is short-term doom followed by protests. we don’t want Ashley, Pardew or Mclaren.

I heard someone on here had a son who had inside information off someone that speaks to Ashley all the time 😯 😛 😆 😳

  44. wow. 😯 troy and Stu sitting up a tree….

Get a room to whisper nighty nighty to one-another 😳

Yes BDave. just sick of all things NUFC. its like watching another team nowadays watching Newcastle. I just sit emotionless.. 👿

Me and Stuart are united! Bonded by our talent to predict the future.
You don’t have to tell me what Stuart was meaning. The pair of us and Big Dave have sung from the same hymn sheet for years whilst you
You banged the Ashley drum for years. It’s so phoney (funny) to see you jumping on the reality train these days as if you’ve been there throughout. 😆

I mean. I did christen you the butterfly as you fluttered from one opinion to the other. 😛

  47. Pardew said this is the best team he ever had a the start of the season.
Pardew said the club would be challenging for the champion’s league.
He was talking complete liar and creep. He defended Ashley’s transfer policy and gave the club more 3 nil hammering’s or more than any other manager.

      (Quote)

  48. that’s me 😛 😉

as long as I don’t follow the opinion of the 3 legends, the Geordie dancer and the linesman at the Toons u10’s team 😆

  49. Carver says its the tea lady’s fault we lost to Sunderland. It’s an article in the mag. He has stooped to an all time low in my opinion.

      (Quote)

  50. If you want a club to be proud of in the future then all supporters will have to work hard for it. Don’t listen to a con man like Ashley. He is poison for the club. Carver is just trying to do his job but isn’t capable enough. The only way to get Ashley out and get our club back is a boycott until he sells up. Don’t believe any malarkey about things changing in the summer either. Ashley will do the minimum amount required to keep us in the Prem.

      (Quote)

  51. I’ve been looking at the state of the squad over the last few days and it’s a disaster. We are extremely weak all over the pitch. An Ashley lead club has been, is, and always will be a disaster. He will continue with his plan of cheap young imports, no effort in the domestic cups, and sale of any player who becomes attractive to top clubs. We will continue to be in the bottom half of the table indefinitely with this plan. Ashley out.

      (Quote)

  52. Decent players who have come in to the club and done well have been sold. I don’t have to list them I’m sure but here are a few: Cabaye, Remy, Ba, Debuchy, and on and on. Decent players who have come in and stayed have been turned into tripe. Gouffran, Tiote, and Santon are examples. Other players brought in are just tripe period. Riviere, Ferreyra, and Obertan are examples. We have dinosaurs for coaches, excuse makers for managers, and a liar as an owner. Ashley out.

      (Quote)

  53. Kimtoon @85: FFS that is not an explanation at all. What the ******* is saying is that maybe he should have brought Armstrong on but he didn’t. That is not an explanation.

Sammy was having an absolute mare, probably the worst I have ever seen him play. A blind man with a guide mole could see that and yet Carver waited until there was 3 minutes to go. That game and the lack of goals makes me question whether Sammy is good enough.

      (Quote)

  54. I see Pete Graves from Sky is saying boycott not the answer. Funnily enough he doesn’t come up with an answer though…

      (Quote)

  55. Putting second raters and third raters in charge of the club is the Ashley method. Pardew was second rate, Carver is third rate. Does anyone think that any other club in the Prem would hire Carver as manager? The squad depth issue has been with us for 8 years as well. Complete disaster there. Keeping Williamson in the lineup because we have nobody else? Madness. Keeping made of glass Saylor instead of selling him for whatever we could get? Madness. Paying Obertan to pretend to be a football player? Madness. The joke has been on us for 8 years now. Personally, I’m not amused. Ashley out.

      (Quote)

  56. Take a look at Sammy’s stats Eric mate. He is not good enough. Period. Far too light weight. Like many of the others in the squad, not suited to the Prem. Would do reasonably well in the Championship.

      (Quote)

  57. Stuart: I do not have an answer but fear that a failed boycott would only strengthen Ashley’s hand. Judging by the partial failure of the walkout last year I think there is a lot more apathy in the stadium than on this blog. Funny though that some bloggers are avoiding blogs because they are so disheartened with the goings on at the club, they just don’t have the stomach for it anymore.

I mean, what did we watch on Sunday? There was no skill, no tactics, no passion, no fight, no in-game adjustments. No nothing. It was totally gutless from players to coaches to interim manager (although he sees himself as permanent until told otherwise 🙂 ).

      (Quote)

  58. Carver has become another apologist for the regime. Another one that says “listen lads things are going to change in the future. Ashley is going to spend in the summer.” Certainly he will spend to save his investment by keeping us in the Prem (barely most seasons). Is that what we want? Another season of **** which always disintegrates in the second half? Even Pardew couldn’t take it anymore. He actually had the balls to get up and leave. We’re supporters. We can’t leave but we can force change. Ashley out.

      (Quote)

  59. G2: Maybe a tonking on Monday by the scouse gits might light a fire under a few peoples arses for a boycott? They were **** against Arsenal so we might get away with only 3 or 4 nil – hope springs eternal? I wonder what the most goals we have let in in the PL is and if we will beat that record? That would be a pretty damning statistic and an indictment of our transfer, boardroom and managerial policies.

      (Quote)

  60. How are people enjoying the 8 year Buffoon Plan? Excellent football isn’t it? And no doubt we’re in for a real treat next season unless we force The Parasite out. He might even bring in a CB and a striker if he can find players cheap enough to suit The Buffoon Plan.
