Game On! Newcastle Vs Swansea

Magpies v Swans
Magpies v Swans
Welcome one and all to this ‘Game On’ article which will take us through the highs and lows as we play host to Swansea in this afternoons Premier league game (3pm kick-off), Newcastle United will be looking to end their record equaling six-game losing run,as im sure JC will not want to lose 7 in a row and gain a new record.
We go into the fixture on the back of a 3-1 home defeat against Spurs, while Swansea also lost last time out – going down 2-0 at relegation-threatened Leicester City.
When the sides met earlier this season, Papiss Cisse scored twice as Newcastle twice came from behind to earn a point at the Liberty Stadium, cancelling out goals from Wilfried Bony and Wayne Routledge.
Speaking ahead of the game JC said “Swansea are a side who will try and keep the ball and so we’ll have to be patient at times, but I’ve got to come up with a winning formula and get the three points. I remember in the fixture last year they got a very late winner in the death of the game that killed us off a little bit. We know what they’re about and we know their strengths and weaknesses but it’s about us now. We got a good draw earlier in the season and we’re looking to take that one step further this weekend.”
TEAM NEWS
Newcastle – Siem de Jong returns to the matchday squad following a collapsed lung, and the Dutch international could make his first appearance since August after coming through two under-21 games unscathed.Jonas Gutierrez should also be back in the team, after making up with JC after their training ground bust up. Winger Rolando Aarons (hamstring) and defender Paul Dummett (knee) are back in training but will not be risked today. Moussa Sissoko is again missing, serving the final game of his two-match ban, while Saturday is the fifth match of seven that Papiss Cisse has to sit out through suspension. Massadio Haidara (knee), Cheick Tiote (knee) and Steven Taylor (Achilles) remain sidelined.

  2. Where the passion? Where the emotion? – not one toon player getting angry or annoyed!!. Just fucking slouched shoulders and back to the centre circle for kick off.
Where’s JCs emotion as a fucking Geordie – I’m shouting at my laptop here, where’s he?

  3. whoever scouted Riviere should be banned from football. The bloke falls asleep ON the ball 🙄

  4. We will be down! I will laugh, laugh and laugh some more! It will hurt that fat **** more than me!

  5. BB@152, I was thinking the same, our horrendous negative goal difference could cost us… big time…

  7. We need to get relegated anyways, it’s the only way to rid newcastle of Ashley- when it’s making him no money. This time we would not come back up as we have no real players anymore as they were all sold for a short term gain and we have no manager either. I for one would be ok with a few years in div 1 until Ashley leaves- how else will we ever get rid?

  8. I think it’s way out of order, Swansea have nothing to play for, are in there flip flops, and beat us easily… 👿

      (Quote)

  9. Scum played well apparently and get a point as do Baggies and QPR, Hull and Leicester get 3 each with Leicester’s courtesy of an og 🙄

  10. JC you genius!!. Give De Jong 15mins – the only player who could have a real influence on our game … unfortunately the game is already over!!.

      (Quote)

  11. Sharples@177, Carver had to protect De Jong from himself most probably. If he’d been on longer he might have got caught up in it and injured himself again by trying too hard…..

Class finish by the bloke actually….

I blame Cisse personally… we have no strikers, and losing him for 7 games really was putting a weak squad under pressure…

  12. Kintoon, thanks… I do not see us picking up a single point again this season. It’s all about the teams below really. On form we are by far the worst. It stuns me how carver keeps saying he is man for the job. He must be as thick as pig **** if he truly thinks that Ffs.

  13. Big D@186, no it isn’t mate… 😕 but we need him now, because you can see the whole team realy don’t think they can score as goal, you can feel it in the side… cisse could conjour something from nothing..

..and that someone decided to recruit Riviere for 6 million pounds……for me the bloke is disaster zone…sorry like… 🙁

  14. Munich – if De Jong wasn’t fit enough to play 30mins he should have been on the bench mate.

  15. Watching the Toon these days is like going to a hospital to visit a close relative dying with cancer…. You feel you have to visit the hospice and go and sit with them, stay a while even though you don’t really want to and all the while there is that horrible smell of death and decay and you just know there’s nothing you can do but watch them slowly fade away…

RIP our once great team ….

  16. Anita at LB was horrifically bad. Willo and Colo were horrifically bad. The third goal looked like Swansea against an U-10 side. Couldn’t believe what I was watching. Carver looked like the sphinx there for a while. Charnley looked like he wanted to disappear into his own coat.

  17. Can someone please check for Lambeezee’s purples? Where are they when we need them? Why wasn’t Ashley there to support his beloved team? Come on Mike show us how proud you are of your efforts for the club.

  18. Well, hmmm, all we really need is 11 or 12 decent players and we should be a mid table side next season. Oh and get rid of as much dross as possible. Obertan out, Willo out, Colo out, Saylor out, Gouffran out, Tiote wants out, Sissoko wants out, Riviere out, Ferrerya out. So we’ll bring in about 15M pounds and spend 100M pounds or so? I can definitely see Ashley doing that. Yes. Oh look, there’s a flock of pigs overhead!!!

  19. we are going to be saved purely by the fixtures of Hull, Leicester and mackems.
I just cant see all 3 of them getting enough to overtake us.
But then again, when the writing is on the wall, there’s nowt can be done about it.
Parver can go on setting new records every week to the end of the season.
What a club legend he will be

  20. Colback was one of our best players again today. Assisted on De Jong’s goal and gave us some presence in the center of the pitch. Jonas tried but has no pace. He hangs onto the ball for too long and gives it away. Krul must be humiliated playing for us by now. I hear he has a new agent and wants away. I don’t blame him. What must De Jong be thinking? What is this pile of sh*te I’ve dropped myself into?

      (Quote)

  21. Willo who couldn’t trap a bag of cement as our set piece target man!!! Ahahahahahahaha!!!!

      (Quote)

  22. I’ll see your willo and raise you a 4ft 6 Armstrong as our new target man for crosses into the box

  23. No sane person would believe it. A completely silent but nearly full ground. No fight in any of them. No reaction at all. Sit and watch loss after loss and don’t demand action.

  24. I am probably the only one on here who isn’t to down hearted. I mean it would really hurt Ashley if we went down. Less money and advertising for him and his brought it all on himself.

  25. Aye BB @199, it’s not funny at all. I completely agree with you. But it’s Ashley who has made a mockery of the club. And so many people going to the games and just sitting there like statues. Pathetic. I’m embarrassed for the club and the city. I will continue to support AshleyOut.com until the parasite is gone.

  26. Yes, please Terry mate@201 buy me an SD mug so I can sh*t in it and mail it to Ashley.

  27. Leicesters 4th straight win and our 7th straight loss. 😛

we have a better squad of players (on paper) but they have passion, grit and a plan 😈

      (Quote)

  28. tbh we have a winnable game where sunderland also only have 1. so they still can’t catch us. but I’ve never seen a relegation scrap go to plan. On paper we’re safer than the bottom 5.

I hope theres something in Ashley staying away. Ive had a feeling for a while now somethings stirring away in the background. Pardew leaving, with Mikes best wishes, reluctance to spend (no surprise there really)

Is he ready to sell up? 😮 probably not 😕

  29. you don’t buy those awful mugs, you get sent them when you order tat online.
and they bloody charge you for them.
I smashed mine the first and only time I made that mistake, years ago, but in hindsight, your idea G2 is far better.

  30. The plan might be to get us relegated next season and then leave us to drift along in the lower leagues, as some kind of sick pay back to the horrible fans that call him names.
He will probably think its worth every penny

  31. All I can say is well done Mike Ashley. A club in shambles. And it only took you 8 years to accomplish it. What’s next meathead?

  34. Ashley will be in a panic this summer. If he appoints another lackey as head coach and leaves Charnley as Managing Director it will be a disaster. But if he appoints a decent pair they will demand changes be made all through this rotten shell of a club we have. What to do Mike? Possibly time to wring your hands and burst into tears?

  35. Gash – the key matches there are:
    Leicester v QPR
    Sunderland V Leicester
    Hull V Burnley
The results of which should ensure our safety.

  36. I wonder if we can compete with them next season 😕
or are we going to be the PL whipping boys yet again

      (Quote)

  37. @BB aye, definitely.

I can see the bottom 3 now, going down.

It would be nice to see us escape by showing some attitude but I’ll happily take other teams being ******* than us for us to survive. 😉
