Game On! Queens Park Rangers Vs Newcastle United

Hoops v Magpies
Hoops v Magpies
Newcastle United travel to Queens Park Rangers today in the Barclays Premier League (3pm kick-off).
The Magpies go into the fixture at Loftus Road having secured their first point in nine games with a 1-1 home draw against West Bromwich Albion last weekend.
While Rangers were hammered 6-0 at Manchester City, which confirmed that they will be playing Championship football next season. We go into this game in desperate need of a win to try to stop us really going down to the wire in the relegation scrap to confirm the last relegation place, also a win will be our first double of the season.
Speaking ahead of todays game John Carver said “If I was Chris Ramsey and I had just lost at Man City by the score line they lost then I’d be at my players to put on a show,” “Let’s not forget this is their last home game in the Premier League for at least one season and they did take a beating last weekend, so I’d want my players to put on a good show.
“Yes, they may be a little more relaxed, yes he might play some younger players, but there’s one or two players in that team that will have a point to prove and will want to go out on a high.
“We know how difficult it is to go to Man City and get a result but that will drive them forward now.
“I have sympathy for Chris – he hasn’t got a great deal of experience managing in the Premier League but he’s a good guy and a good coach and hopefully he’ll get the job next season.
“But for now there are some big characters in the QPR dressing room that won’t want to do us any favours at the weekend.
“I’m looking forward to it because it’s going to be a big challenge for us, there will be pressure on but we will have to embrace that.”
Team News
Newcastle – Daryl Janmaat returns to the squad after completing a one-match ban for his red card at Leicester a fortnight ago, but fellow defender Mike Williamson remains out, serving the second game of his two-match ban. Veteran striker Bobby Zamora, full-back Mauricio Isla and forward Mauro Zarate are all doubts, but Armand Traore (calf), Eduardo Vargas (knee) and Alejandro Faurlin (knee) remain sidelined.

  1. Nah, QPR are as bad as us and their mis-manager is about as bad as Ugly John – just doesn’t spout as much shyte.

  2. And in other news… Ugly John Carver said today that actually black was not white and he only said it “tongue in cheek”. He has a contract with Sports Direct/NUFC that is worth more than the paper it is written on and nobody should say a word about Mike (Fatman) Ashley and any of those zero hours contracts. The pickled walnut with hair went on “I’ve got mine, I am stealing from Mike and the club, what do I care”? Eric Sykes thought this might not be Tongue in Cheek.

  3. Yeah I think we may just scrap a very ugly boring win today. 0-1 for me today with Cisse getting the goal.

  4. Ice 2 forecasts for you 😀 it will be a boring scrappy 0-1 win or the R’s will start out like a house on fire then end up leading 1-0 then we will pin them back to 1-1 and their heads will drop and they will lose their discipline and end up playing with 9-10 men and we will sneak the game 1-2 😉

  5. I fancy a 1-0 win if cisse plays or 1-1

Hopefully we havent got too many injuries. Anita spoke after last weeks 1-1 draw that he showed he cared by playing much better and even suffered CRAMP! Bless him, he really put his health at risk by trying too hard for us fans

  6. JAY things canny, need to see you on more, fed up with the bloody circus at sjp, just wish the season was over

  7. I had enough a long time ago, cancelled my ST during last season, paying for trains and hotels etc to watch that *****, I couldn’t justify paying it anymore. Only been to 3 matches this season. I’ll get on more mate lol

  8. I think the starting line up is all important today for me. JC has to start his best 11 – even if they are not fully fit, then replace them later in the game.
This bringing them on in the final 30mins is no good for me, coz the adrenaline of starting a game isn’t there and it’s hard for them to get the pace of the game – especially if we are behind.

  9. JJ: a red card suspension would mean 3 games and be carried over to next year and therefore an extended summer holiday. So that is Krul, Coloccini and Obertan seeing red today then. I would have said de Jong but he has a thigh and hasn’t been spotted for a month, except on twitter. Amazingly the thigh was not a problem for his other 20 minutes of this season.

  10. @NUFC: #NUFC at @QPRFC: Krul, Janmaat, Coloccini (c), Dummett, Gutierrez, Colback, R.Taylor, Sissoko, Cabella, Perez, Rivière.

  11. well I think carver is a utter and total fuking ball-sack. How can he even mention about QPR 6-0 loss and talk in a way where he feels he is superior to his counterpart today – he needs to have a reality slap across the chops – one lousy 1-1 draw against another ***** team at home and he thinks he is a seasoned pro of a manager. it still amounts to no wins in 9, with 8 loses you fukwit.

QPR are dog **** but then again so are we, I am going for at best another draw to us and a god awful game to watch. if I were to bet I would say we could lose this one as we are just utter ****, lets be honest.

  12. JAY aye mate a “dear do” for you,and as you say for what, you get sick of getting your end knocked in

  13. I was sick of boring tactics and a lack of effort, although we didn’t lose any of the 3 matches I’ve been to this season

  14. Thanks for the thread Dave. Very concerned for today, hate them for making me feel so sick about watching a bloody football game. They better get stuck in and give a good account and produce a good win or my mood will sour even more than it is. Good to see Villa getting thumped at the mo that will help our goal difference.

  15. Yip that’s exactly what I pissing meant!!. Start Aarons & Cisse and bring Riviere and Cabella or Sammy or Goof on later.
I could understand if Riv & Cab were in form and playing well, but they really aren’t.
Still, fingers crossed and get behind those who start for me.

  16. Why the hell does he keep picking Ryan Taylor? His legs have gone and he’s always miles behind the play!

  17. After watching these playoff games, both Norwich and Boro deserve to go up and QPR and NUFC deserve to go down. If we stay up, it will be by sheer luck and Hull losing at home to Burnley last week. The players couldn’t care less and Carver has lost the dressing room weeks ago.

  18. well I hope the fans get behind the team today and I hope the players turn up. It’s a massive day. Going for a 2-1 Toon win with Aaron’s and Cisse making an impact later on.

      (Quote)

  19. I was thinking just the same about Ryalor, the bloke doesn’t deserve his place in the starting line up imo. Then I just had a flash there…. and it was clear….. 0-2 Toon, a free kick from Raylor and a tap in from Riviere…

You heard it first here …get 100 of your hard earned British pounds on my tip 😎 😎

  20. JC is “protecting” Cisse.
Expect to see him on at the beginning of the second half…

      (Quote)

  21. Ice I think we need to be careful with Cisse maybe bring him on at half time or 50-60 min mark as we might need him against the Hammers aswell

      (Quote)

  22. Ice – I think starting Cisse & Aarons gives all the other plays a lift too. They go out thinking we want to win this. Getting that 1st goal lifts spirits and gives us something to protect & build on – it also puts the ***** up QPR who are at home last game of the season. Cisse & Aarons gives us a better chance of doing think. No offence to Riv or Cab but if I’m Sissoko or Colback or Perez, I’d far sooner see Cisse & Aarons in there, even if it’s just for the first half

      (Quote)

  23. Two **** team’s playing each other. No away goals for 498 minutes! To close to call for me.

  24. KT@30, don’t be a cheeky monkey now 😉 😆 😆 😆
JC starting on the front foot again… 😆 😆 😆 relying on our three prolific strikers tying up there lumbering central defenders. Raylor pinging high balls forward to the masterful Riviere and Perez… Sissoko going awol as usual, and Collback trying to do the job of 2 midfielders…

      (Quote)

  25. Raylors job today will be to provide cover for Janmaat when he’s getting forward. I would be telling him not to even cross the halfway line – just protect that right flank and allow Janmaat to do that running.

      (Quote)

  26. Just loving seeing those goals going in the Villa net. Goal difference could play a big part in the final run in….
Come on Saints, wipe the floor with them !

      (Quote)

  27. Stu – hope so. It would be 1 more closer to the 10 I predicted at the start of the season hahaha

      (Quote)

  28. For the first time in months I’m expecting a win today. Two red cards (one for Barton) an own goal and an ugly 2-0 win.

Wouldn’t it be weird if I was right on all that? 🙂

      (Quote)

  29. Sharpy: when does Ryan Taylor ever cross the half way line except to take a free kick or corner? He also has a Stan Laurel type expression on his face the whole time except Stan was a comic genius and did it on purpose.

      (Quote)

  30. there is no goals in that selection. cisse needed to start not come on when we are already losing and everyone’s heads have came down. stupid game plan.

saw what ya said on the last blog only 1 that nos nowt about footie is you stuart little brain you defo no nothing about bussiness either

      (Quote)

  32. And Big D: when have I said anything about any manager except Carver being ugly? And players? That was an observation earlier @46 about Ryan Taylor looking constantly stupid, like Stan Laurel did, but Stan was faking it.

      (Quote)

  33. But on the football front I must say you’ll struggle to find many times I’ve been wrong.

      (Quote)

  34. WHOOPEEE!! – why let a little thing like a football match get in the way of a good ***** fest 😛 🙄

      (Quote)

  35. Eric @ 56 I never said that 😀 I just asked did you like pretty boys 😉 you are forever telling us how ugly JC is and now your talking about how Raylor looks 😆 😆 😆
