The Magpies go into the fixture at Loftus Road having secured their first point in nine games with a 1-1 home draw against West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

Speaking ahead of todays game John Carver said “If I was Chris Ramsey and I had just lost at Man City by the score line they lost then I’d be at my players to put on a show,” “Let’s not forget this is their last home game in the Premier League for at least one season and they did take a beating last weekend, so I’d want my players to put on a good show.
“Yes, they may be a little more relaxed, yes he might play some younger players, but there’s one or two players in that team that will have a point to prove and will want to go out on a high.
“We know how difficult it is to go to Man City and get a result but that will drive them forward now.
“I have sympathy for Chris – he hasn’t got a great deal of experience managing in the Premier League but he’s a good guy and a good coach and hopefully he’ll get the job next season.
“But for now there are some big characters in the QPR dressing room that won’t want to do us any favours at the weekend.
“I’m looking forward to it because it’s going to be a big challenge for us, there will be pressure on but we will have to embrace that.”

Newcastle – Daryl Janmaat returns to the squad after completing a one-match ban for his red card at Leicester a fortnight ago, but fellow defender Mike Williamson remains out, serving the second game of his two-match ban. QPR – Versatile defender Nedum Onuoha returns from suspension, while centre-back Steven Caulker is expected to play, despite having a broken hand, and will receive a pain-killing injection before the game. Veteran striker Bobby Zamora, full-back Mauricio Isla and forward Mauro Zarate are all doubts, but Armand Traore (calf), Eduardo Vargas (knee) and Alejandro Faurlin (knee) remain sidelined.
