Game On! Queens Park Rangers Vs Newcastle United

Hoops v Magpies
Newcastle United travel to Queens Park Rangers today in the Barclays Premier League (3pm kick-off).
The Magpies go into the fixture at Loftus Road having secured their first point in nine games with a 1-1 home draw against West Bromwich Albion last weekend.
While Rangers were hammered 6-0 at Manchester City, which confirmed that they will be playing Championship football next season. We go into this game in desperate need of a win to try to stop us really going down to the wire in the relegation scrap to confirm the last relegation place, also a win will be our first double of the season.
Speaking ahead of todays game John Carver said “If I was Chris Ramsey and I had just lost at Man City by the score line they lost then I’d be at my players to put on a show,” “Let’s not forget this is their last home game in the Premier League for at least one season and they did take a beating last weekend, so I’d want my players to put on a good show.
“Yes, they may be a little more relaxed, yes he might play some younger players, but there’s one or two players in that team that will have a point to prove and will want to go out on a high.
“We know how difficult it is to go to Man City and get a result but that will drive them forward now.
“I have sympathy for Chris – he hasn’t got a great deal of experience managing in the Premier League but he’s a good guy and a good coach and hopefully he’ll get the job next season.
“But for now there are some big characters in the QPR dressing room that won’t want to do us any favours at the weekend.
“I’m looking forward to it because it’s going to be a big challenge for us, there will be pressure on but we will have to embrace that.”
Team News
Newcastle – Daryl Janmaat returns to the squad after completing a one-match ban for his red card at Leicester a fortnight ago, but fellow defender Mike Williamson remains out, serving the second game of his two-match ban. Veteran striker Bobby Zamora, full-back Mauricio Isla and forward Mauro Zarate are all doubts, but Armand Traore (calf), Eduardo Vargas (knee) and Alejandro Faurlin (knee) remain sidelined.

  2. Assist by Krul lol. Not a good ball in, just shocking QPR defending. Good movement by Rivi though.

  3. Another Barton victim! – that looks like a nice knock to Green there, hope he’s ok

  5. But this could be a bitter sweet moment with Carver most probably getting the job if we win this.

  6. Im impressed with ustin. Good movement, touch and strength. Would be happy if we went in and signed him this summer. I really hope we sign a few UK nationals to give us a good local spine.

  7. I see Keith Bishop is there. He will be pulling his cocker as we speak. Charnley will be growing his hair back and Ashley will be counting his money all hoping it stays like this.

But my god, how bad are QPR???

  8. Will we regret the missed chances? Possible as I fancy there’s a chmace for Austin in this game yet.

  9. Cabella gets himself into some nice positions, but his brain does not seem to catch up with his position. He has so many opportunities to set one up for teammates but by the time he has seen it, he has been closed down. A bit like Obertan.

  10. As things stand we are safe. I just love Ugly John. Carver for England and I will hold my breath for 45 more minutes.

  11. Much more of this and I will be calling him “Handsome John”. It all started 6 months ago when I told me Mam that Carver was 49 (at the time). She was like, f@cking hell he looks as old as me (she’s 73)!

  12. If we hold on and Hull win today, it’s gona be a hell of a ride on match day 38, with 5, possibly 6 teams scrapping it out!

  15. Every single big moment since January has shown the decision to let two defenders go in January was farcical. We are living to regret it.

  16. MM – Our defense is not good enough and we need a cutting edge. Still on course for the 2-1 win I predicted once Aarons and Cisse arrive. We need a productive winger, 2 proper strikers and a new defense with the exception of Janmaat.

  17. Well that is all down to Tim Krul the bloody clown. When will he learn to distribute the ball properly?

  18. We need a win but I said a while ago the west ham game will be the decider .. Unless cisse scores…

  19. Krul and Ryan Taylor. Deary me, what an absolutely abysmal effort from both ? ***** clearance from Krul, then Raylor backed out of the tackle.
Embarassing ….none of these players are fit to wear the stripes.

    None.

    Embarassing….again…

  20. Krul’s distribution is a bit ****. C’mon though. A draw and we are probably OK. The fat Bernard Cribbins/bagpuss will help us out. I think I just saw a lesser spotted Rolando Aarons.

  21. MM: another penalty we didn’t get. FFS. I am taking my bet off 7 black and puttiing it on 13 red.

  22. Ramsay is outdoing Carver in the thinking mans game, by telling his team to attack our full backs – in particular Paul Dummett. We could have had 2 penalties today too.
