Game On! Newcastle United V Bournemouth

Biggest game of the season?Welcome all to the Game On thread, where you can dissect and reflect on Newcastle United’s must win home match against Bournemouth as the game progresses.

The thread is late up, so I wont waffle as there is a game to concentrate on. Needless to say if we don’t win today then we the fans expect Steve McClaren to be shown the exit door. Well we expect that anyway… however, this is a must win game and if the lads don’t pull off a result today then no doubt the general consensus will be that we will be playing Championship footy next season.

  1. Cheers, Sham.

Goals in this game but given our scoring record we might be on the wrong end…

Make no doubt about it, we are watching 2 absolutely garbage teams …

  3. This team are playing to get McWally sacked…there is no doubt about that.
If this is all they can muster at home against a poor Bournemouth team then we may as well give up.

    Clueless tactics, no fight, shocking…

  4. Oh dear, oh dear!

We don’t come back and win many of these games do we?

Maybe the fans will show the club what they want now…

  5. dear me talk about commentators favouring one team. these turkeys only have eyes for Bournemouth…

Why didn’t the bulls knacker start with Aarons ?

  6. I have zero confidence in English Managers in the current century… their tactical knowledge are outdated.

Just look at the PL top half of the table….

When is the last time Newcastle having a foreign manager and do quite well? Guess who? Chris Hughton being the closest(Represent Ireland)

  7. there is only 1 team in it…

typical of the whole season if the truth be told…. EVERYBODY has battered us…

  8. Lol… The new site layout needs tweaking. You have to put 2 images up on the articles if you want an image in the home page and a captioned Image in the article. It looks silly when there are 2 images so I have sacrificed the captioned image.

Oh and we also need the new guys to sort out a few articles.

Oh and we need a football team to support. At the moment we are supporting a bunch of clownes.

  9. the Bournemouth defenders must be looking at our front line and pissing themselves laughing…

  10. our players are just way to far spread out…and incompetent on the ball…

we have one attacking outlet, our right wing…. and that is ****…

  11. Ashley doesn’t have many appearances at games this season ?
Relegation might see the back of him ?

  12. I’ve said for ages now that we are one of the worst sides in the Prem by a LONG shot….
Sheff Wed third team battered us !!

  13. I did not think we would fare well today. Said the other day Bournemouth fight for every ball and pass & move. We don’t fight and don’t move. Not intelligently anyway.

  14. So…. That went well.

    Riviere?

The one thing the Grin Reaper should be able to install in his team’s is the principles of pass and move. That’s what Dutch footy was always about until recently. Is he actually the worst manager we have ever had in the PL?

  15. dear me, has Riviere broken sweat yet ?
The blokes movement and tempo is absolutely abysmal.
Yet McLaren still picks him. SHOCKING.

This SURELY has to be his last game in charge ?

  16. This relegation is death by a thousand cuts, sooner we’re down the better, at least we are not faced with last day agony. And we will drop make no mistake.

  17. Can’t blame Taylor. More blame on colback for his weak pass that led to their goal

Good passage of play before Taylor’s shot. We actually retained the ball 😯

No over yet but will be difficult not leaving ourselves open at the back

    Shelvey needs to be careful

  18. Thing is Kim it’s just basics we are getting wrong. Fight for the ball. Pass and move into space. Defend in numbers. Attack in numbers. It’s just work rate and common sense.

Tell you what I take it all back about the winter break in Spain. Scteve was right and I was wrong. Oh hang in a minute…. No. No I was right and he was wrong. Again.

  21. going down with a whimper…

at least it means I get my Saturday afternoons back because I have absolutely no interest in watching the Championship, and even less interest watching the cheating charlatans going through the motions in black and white..
Garbage from A to Z…. we’ve escaped by the skins of our teeth the last few years, but not this time…

  22. Sham, how ever poor steve is and he is, there are players out there not even trying, it’s scandalous mate.

  23. The docile manager got it all wrong again with his line up.
Riviere garbage, has cost him a substitute now…

  24. Kimtoon, you are spot on there mate.
The players are cheating the stripes if you ask me..

Watch the players off the ball, they are strolling through the game with no intensity..

Cheating the stripes I say mate..

      (Quote)

  25. you could tell by the intensity of the Bournemouth goal celebration that they aren’t too fussed, they know it’s a piece of ****..

      (Quote)

  26. Well the board deserves relegation for a) picking the wrong man when we all knew he was rubbish and b) not cutting him loose a long time ago because the writing has been in the wall since his summer tour never mind 10 games in.
