Game On! Newcastle United V Bournemouth

Biggest game of the season?Welcome all to the Game On thread, where you can dissect and reflect on Newcastle United’s must win home match against Bournemouth as the game progresses.

The thread is late up, so I wont waffle as there is a game to concentrate on. Needless to say if we don’t win today then we the fans expect Steve McClaren to be shown the exit door. Well we expect that anyway… however, this is a must win game and if the lads don’t pull off a result today then no doubt the general consensus will be that we will be playing Championship footy next season.

Newcastle United: Elliot; Janmaat, Taylor, Lascelles, Dummett; Colback, Shelvey; Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Perez; Riviere.

Subs: Darlow, Anita, Saivet, Gouffran, Aarons, Mitrovic, Doumbia.

Bournemouth: Boruc, Smith, Francis, Cook, Daniels, Ritchie, Gosling, Surman, Gradel, King, Afobe
.
Subs: Federici, Elphick, Distin, O’Kane, Pugh, Grabban, Murray.

  1. MM we have not had a shot on target yet. And Bmth have spent all 2nd half in our 3rd of the pitch.

McClaren should by all rights be sacked on the stroke of full time. Will it happen? If so, what joke will they hire next? Needs to be a manager with pedigree.

  2. Painful this. We need our equaliser by now. What’s the chances of us scoring 2 in 25mins

  5. game over and as commentary team have said these players need to take a lot of responsibility. Shameful utterly shameful from some of these lads, they cannot just stroll about and absolve themselves of all blame here.

  6. tell you what like, for a gazzilionaire Ashley sure as hell makes a whole series of ****-ups… putting faith in incompetents…

He’s let cretins loose with a famour footballing institution…

Surely McClaren and Charnley cannot survive this ?

  7. Why was Lascalles standing watching. We have options all over the pitch they said. No need for signings.

Rivi, Lascalles, Taylor, Goof can do a job…

  8. Kim – The players take heir lead from the manager/coach. That’s why clubs have managers/coaches. Teams who are badly coached and managed play like 11 individuals because they don’t know what they’re suppose to be doing.

There is just not one single thing to even show we have a style of play.

  9. MM, The club are paralysed by fear I think, either that or they simply don’t care or are too arrogant to think we’ll drop.

  10. has anyone noticed that wor lot cannot pass the ball, never allow the receiving player accept the ball in his stride…always passed backwards. Been like this all season.

A sign of too many players with **** technique…

Dear me it’s called football !!

  11. Stu I totally understand that, but you cannot tell me that’s why they are static, they can’t even get the basics right here and you don’t need a coach for that. I’m not defending steve, I want him out, but lets be fair here, these players are taking the ****.

  12. the only two “footballers” we have in the side, Shelvey and Perez. What an absolutely magnificent goal !

  13. Perez god on him. Why McClaren dropped him for so long is bad management. Yes Kim what do are coaches do ?

  15. Dave – They need to act, man! I can’t believe even Ashley will be happy with this. Losing 3-1 at home against Bournemouth is a whole new level of shittyness!

  17. Brendan Rodgers or David Moyes would be my choices. One of them will do a better job.

Jabba might have to loosen his grip though.

  18. Although we are in a situation now where we can ask, would anybody decent want to come and take the job at this late stage?

  21. This club is dead. It no longer has a soul.

It hasn’t for a long time but the fact this **** is not at risk of unemployment is a disgrace and the most public admission we’re a rotting corpse on display that 52,000 mugs still seem to have little else in their life to occupy their time every two weeks.

    The whole thing is pathetic.

  23. John Anderson absolutely fuming on radio Newcastle!!! “Club is shambolic from top to bottom. Which decent coach with a good reputation would put that on the line to work here, where he will be told what to do and will get no support.”

    Damning!

  24. That performance was from players who have given up on their manager. The players at Chelsea did the same and when you’ve lost the players you have no chance!
