Tributes pour in following the passing of a true Newcastle United legend

Some very sad news today, as it is announced that life-long Newcastle United tea lady, Kath Cassidy, passed away on Monday at the age of 90.

Kath served the club for an incredible 52 years and was said to be adored by managers, players and staff.
The legendary tea lady saw several Newcastle managers come and go in her time at the club and was adored by the great Alan Shearer,  who said this following her retirement in 2015:

“Thanks, Kath. Everyone knows that two things make a football club – the fans and the tea lady – and we had the best of both.

“Always there with a kind word and friendly smile, it won’t be the same without you. Good luck in your retirement.”

I’m sure everyone will agree that she was an incredible servant of our beloved football club and our thoughts go out to her family and friends.
Since the news broke of Kath’s passing, messages of love and support have flown in from social media, as all who knew her pay tribute to a wonderful lady who gave everything Newcastle United:

The club have confirmed they will pay tribute to Kath at Saturday’s match.
Let’s raise the roof for her and support the team on to what would be a massive 3 points.
R.I.P Kath.
