According to reports from Tuttosport, Newcastle United are considering an ambitious move for Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro.
Newcastle United are expected to be very busy during the final few days of the summer transfer window and a host of names have been bandied about as potential targets for the Magpies over the past few days.
Now in surprise reports from Italian outlet Tuttosport, claims have been made that the Tyneside based outfit are currently plotting an ambitious swoop for Juventus man Stefano Sturaro.
Sturaro is a midfielder who has won three Serie A titles since making a move to Juventus from Genoa back in the summer of 2014 and he is certainly very highly rated in Italy.
However with Juventus having recently signed Blaise Matuidi from PSG, Sturaro’s chances of earning regular first team football this season has been dealt a blow and as a result, the 24-year-old has been touted to leave Turin this summer.
A move to England with Newcastle United has now been claimed as a possibility by reports emerging out of Italy and signing the Italian international would surely represent a huge coup for the Magpies.
The likes of Everton, Stoke City and Crystal Palace are all said to be interested in signing Sturaro as well and it remains to be seen as to whether Newcastle will be able to lure the dynamic midfielder to St. James’ Park.
