NUFC star the 2nd highest performer in his position across Europe’s big 5 leagues – Opta Stats

According to Opta Stats, only ONE goalkeeper in Europe’s top 5 leagues has outperformed Martin Dubravka across 2019/20.

As highlighted below, their data states that only Crystal Palace’s Vicente Guaita (9.6) has better numbers in terms of ‘expected goals prevented’ than the Slovakian (8.7).

Here’s the impressive numbers released by Opta Stats this week:

So, not only has Dubravka made more saves than any other Premier League goalkeeper this season (117), he’s statistically been Europe’s second best stopper across the 2019/20 campaign.

Allan Saint-Maximin has been superb, Miguel Almiron has added goals to his game along with Jonjo Shelvey and defenders Federico Fernandez and Ciaran Clark have been rock solid all season, but it’s fair to say Dubravka is a nailed on selection for our player of the year.

Whether the season is officially ended tomorrow or in a few months time, he’s been the difference throughout, having saved Steve Bruce’s bacon on countless occasions this season.
